Premium Organic black tea with organic flavors. Each 14g teabag will make one 2-quart pitcher of DELICIOUS iced tea. Re-steep the teabag and you can get a full gallon out of each one. Steep in boiling water for 2-3 minutes. (3 minutes MAX.) Then combine with ice and water to make a 2-quart pitcher. It couldn’t be simpler – OR more delicious!

And I love this one. This one delivers the coconut cream pie! Creamy, coconut-y, and decadent, like someone liquefied a slice of coconut cream pie and mixed it with black iced tea. YUM!
The black tea is well-balanced with the flavoring. It is creamy, vanilla-y and coconut-y. Notes of butter give off a sort of “pastry” like flavor. Really yum.

This is my second bag. The first bag I followed the traditional hot brew instructions and I did not get enough coconut cream pie for me so I cold brewed the 2nd steep and enjoyed the flavor much more and knew I would try it again. Cold brewed the second bag and so far it’s ok. I think I was hoping for something magical to happen because coconut cream pie is my favorite pie. The more I drink it the more I like it. Sweet coconut cream, good with a little milk also.
Coconut teas can be hit and miss for me, which is probably why I’ve put off trying this SBT for a while. I also have a pouch of the reblended 52 Teas version, which I’ve not opened yet either. The scent of this one dry worried me a little, too; I got suncream from the scent! I’m guessing it’s that artificial coconut type smell some of them have. It was a pretty chemically scent, though, and not encouraging.
That was why my first sip this morning was a revelation. I think I’ve got brewing these down to an art now. I always use a timer so they get exactly three minutes, and I don’t squeeze the bag too hard when I’m taking it out. That seems to help avoid any bitterness, or losing the flavour among an over-strong black base. This one got the usual treatment; 3 minutes in a quarter pint of boiling water, topped up with cold water and into the fridge over night.
This one is pretty much liquid coconut cream. I’m hesitating about adding “pie” because I’m not getting too much that would make me think of pastry or pie crust. Definitely the coconut cream filling, though! The most prominent flavour is coconut, and it tastes toasted. There’s nothing fake-tasting here, despite the scent while dry. There’s also a fairly strong vanilla/cream flavour, which pairs really nicely with the coconut. Together, they’re totally reminiscent of coconut cream pie filling! This is naturally quite a sweet tea, so quite a contrast with yesterday’s Cucumber Melon SBT. I’ve got into the habit of always trying these without additions first, and it’s definitely proved worthwhile. This one is so spot on, it needs nothing else to help it shine.
I guess that makes it another inherently satisfying SBT. It’s HOT today, so this has made my day of work infinitely more bearable so far, especially when fridge cold. It’s flavoursome and beautifully refreshing. Everything you could want in an iced tea, really!
I ordered a few of the SBT to try since the fiance (soon to be husband!!! OMG I’M GETTING MARRIED IN ONE DAY!!) and I both really like iced tea. There was a bit of an ordeal getting these. Our mail carrier didn’t deliver these because “no one was home” in order to receive the package. um, wait, we were home all day! We didn’t get the slip stating that the package wasn’t delivered though. I only found out because I checked the tracking knowing that it was supposed to arrive. ugh.
On to the tea though! I was really nervous to brew this up due to some of the “brewing mishap” reviews I’ve read regarding this tea series. I measured out the two quarts into my pitcher, and then transferred about 2 1/2 cups of that to a pot on the stove. Covering the pot I brought the water just to a boil, shut off the burner, added the bag of tea, and started my timer. Two minutes and 50 seconds later I fished out the bag, and poured the tea from the pot to my pitcher. Set in the fridge and wait until cold!
The dry tea had hints of a creaminess to it, but I wasn’t really getting anything else. Brewed up there is definitely a creamy vanilla scent going on. Taste-wise it’s an enjoyable base, smooth. I am just not getting coconut cream pie. I really really really wanted coconut cream pie. Added some home-made simple syrup to make it a sweet iced tea. Again really lovely, just not what I was expecting/hoping for.
ETA: Totally delish sweetened and with half and half! Still not getting a lot of coconut though. bummer!
