From Simpson & Vail

When we were kids Jim came home from elementary school with some recipes his teacher had given him (perhaps for an upcoming bake sale). I’ll never forget the day our Mom made a batch of Snickerdoodle cookies. They were an instant favorite in our house! The recipe was lost for awhile and we would continually ask Mom for “those lovely cinnamon cookies”. You never saw four happier kids than when she found the recipe again.

If you are a cinnamon lover then this Rooibos blend is for you! When you open the bag, the aroma of cinnamon cookie happily greets you. The brewed cup is amber colored with the taste of fresh baked snickerdoodle cookies. The sweet cinnamon taste lingers deliciously on the tongue.

Ingredients: Organic Green Rooibos, organic cinnamon pieces, sweet blackberry leaf and flavoring.

Brew tea at 212º – steep for 5 minutes.
Caffeine Free. Certified Kosher.

Simpson & Vail Advent Calendar – Day 8

(originally written November 8th)

Ooh, another green rooibos blend. I’ve definitely been the most impressed with these blends so far from the Simpson & Vail advent. The candy cane one in particular was really good, and the dragonfruit version was tasty also.

Wow, this is really cookie-ish. The flavoring they’re using is quite buttery and really sells the snickerdoodle concept. There’s also a good dose of cinnamon, and it’s the powdered spice kind as opposed to the candy one.

However… This is quite sweet from the blackberry leaves. It’s sweeter than I would prefer. To be fair, it’s not overly cloying.

This really does taste like a snickerdoodle, though it is perhaps a tad heavy on the cinnamon.

I’ve got to up my rating for this one. I’m at the end of my two ounces, and I’m so sad to see this one go. The flavors are cinnamon and sugar, just like a real cookie. It makes a great second steep as well. I’m always in the mood for this tea. Definitely a new favorite!

Additional notes: I’ve been drinking many S&V essentials lately. This is another one. However blackberry leaves can taste like a snickerdoodle cookie is still a mystery, but it is a MUCH better option that sweetening it with fake sugars.
I just want to take another moment to say how much I appreciate Steepster, even just the tea resource aspect of it. Nowhere else can you type in ‘snickerdoodle’ and see snickerdoodle teas. It’s been an amazing way to crowdsource opinions on which teas I should buy or stay away from. Not to mention the community around here. I really want Steepster to stick around.

Yeah. Although it is not perfect, sometimes there are stuff which is not working, or not working properly, Steepster has unique vibe and tea database with wide variety of teas.
