From Revolution Tea

Revolution Tea’s award-winning Earl Grey Lavender adds a unique twist to a popular favorite. Ceylon, Oolong and Darjeeling estate tea leaves are lightly flavored with Oil of Bergamot and combined with super blue lavender to create a wonderful, sweet tea. Enjoy Earl Grey Lavender as a morning pick-me-up or as a late afternoon treat.

Update from box: now describes black teas used as Estate Grown Ceylon, Darjeeling, and Shui Xian Teas. Also specifies: “French Lavender Flowers and Italian Bergamot Flavor.”

A little over a week ago, some of us traveled 3 hours to go to a collegiate chapter conference of VMEA. Needless to say, we left pretty early to get there by 8-9ish. They had a little continental breakfast there, and I saw a few Revolution teas in the basket, and having liked what I’ve had of them so far, I thought I’d try this one. I oversteeped it the first time, but before it had gotten to that point, I was in love. It wasn’t too overpowering in tea or bergamot, with the added bonus of a hint of lavender. Definitely a good balance for me, a fan of mild to medium strength teas. Probably my favorite Earl Grey so far. Will have to compare it next to Twinings again and reevaluate.

not very strongly-flavored, even after steeping for a while, but pleasantly mild and a little nutty.

I found this by accident and I love it :) I have tried a couple other revolution teas but this one is top dog in my book.

So, I tried the tea again with a shot of real cream. Much better! It really brought out the lavender flavor. Nom….

Everything about this tea is slick. It’s packaged in a triangular patent-pending tin, and even though the name is Earl Grey Lavender, you have to read the small print to see that there’s oolong blended in too. It’s a nice surprise — I always seem to forget it’s in there until I pick up the cup.
