From Revolution Tea

Revolution Tea’s award-winning Earl Grey Lavender adds a unique twist to a popular favorite. Ceylon, Oolong and Darjeeling estate tea leaves are lightly flavored with Oil of Bergamot and combined with super blue lavender to create a wonderful, sweet tea. Enjoy Earl Grey Lavender as a morning pick-me-up or as a late afternoon treat.

Update from box: now describes black teas used as Estate Grown Ceylon, Darjeeling, and Shui Xian Teas. Also specifies: “French Lavender Flowers and Italian Bergamot Flavor.”

Even though I was drinking it old and stale, this is a lovely tea with strong notes of lavender. It’s good hot or iced (I’m drinking it iced today) and I feel, best sweetened.

This is a great starter lavender earl grey tea. I prefer a stronger lavender flavor but for those not used to the taste of lavender I’d recommend trying this one first.

An excellent Earl Grey, with a lovely fragrance, but I can’t detect much flavor from the lavender.

Picked up a sampler of Revolution teas at Cost Plus World Market when shopping for a Tea Advent Calendar (different company). I loooove the smell of lavender. This tea reminded me of my time in France and Maui at the lavender farms.
The tea is pretty well balanced; not too floral but not weak. Definitely would drink this again.

Ooh, which advent calendar? I’ve ordered 4 so far… (facepalm)

FOUR!!??! I’m pretty certain my partner would raise an eyebrow or two at that. Ohhh but if I could…. I picked up the English Tea Shop calendar at World Market. It was inexpensive compared to the others on my list (next year!)

I guess I’m an overachiever, hah! I couldn’t decide which one I wanted… I also have a jam advent calendar. (shrugs)

I saw a pasta one and a chocolate one. I was soooo tempted. Jam sounds lovely.

Oh it’s so convenient of a tea.

Yes yes we all know how many of us here prefer loose leaf. We enjoy the bloom, flavor distribution and quality of loose leaf teas. This is just a really good satchet!

A reasonably strong earl grey with a very noticeable lavender scent and taste. The bergamot is on the mild side but that’s perfectly reasonable if the main flavor note is Lavender. It’s still a perfectly acceptable floral earl grey and strong enough to be enjoyed alone or as a latte.
Is it as strong or tasty as many earl grey loose blends from independent or boutique shops? Nah- esp those European brands.
For the price point, easy packaging, availability and convenience? Then wow hot damn very worth. Very loved and often used in my cabinets (now if only my co-workers wouldn’t steal so much of it).

The black tea was somewhat weak, but the bergamot and lavender came across quite well. I had this as my morning latte and was hoping for something with more flavour. I brewed 10 minutes, but it was still somewhat lacking. I would have liked more malty and tannin flavours. There are a lot of better EG lavender blends out there, I would suggest finding a cheaper, higher quality option.

Single-handedly got me away from coffee. A few cups get me through the workday. Being able to find it at convenience stores is a plus, too. Great with honey.

Only got this on discount and even for five bucks it was overpriced. Really, your usual Earl Gray with an herbal background. The ingredient combo seems awesome, but the bergamot overpowers the natural notes of the oolong and Darjeeling. The lavender itself is also overpowered by the bergamot, letting it be known in the second steep. The second steep was a huge improvement from the first, being smoother and more flavor packed, but again not worth five dollars.
