This is a pretty nice mellow bagged chai. The spices aren’t so strong that I can’t taste the Assam black tea base. There’s nothing spicy-hot about this one. I can taste the Assam foremost, with the cinnamon and ginger providing some warm tastes and the fennel and cardamom giving a cool balance. Interestingly, there is a a moderate aftertaste and feel of orange zest, though there is none in the blend. Perhaps it’s from the tea leaf? It does leave a little bit of a rough texture on the tongue but otherwise I find this a respectable chai.

When I cleaned out my tea cupboard, I found this teabag I had forgotten about.

It was an ok chai with the typical chai spices. I wasn’t blown away, but it was drinkable. Some cinnamon, clove, cardamom. The black base was a bit too strong for me (could have used milk or sweetener maybe).

I’m pretty new to chai and not big into the strong spice but this one is actually pretty good . It feels smooth as you drink it and the spices are not too overpowering. I would buy this again for when I want something with spice but not too much

This is a decent chai. It’s somewhat spicy, but no one spice is overpowering the others, and it has just a bit of sweetness in there. The ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon all kind of blur into each other. I find myself wishing for some clove or allspice, or for a bit more cinnamon. The black tea is just barely noticeable through the spices. It’s good, but not my favorite blend.

Tried this one today. It was OK, not an amazing Chai but not bad. The description is sultry and I would agree with that. It is not a bright chai rather it is has a darker, less energetic flavor. It seems like there is not enough cinnamon or something in this is missing to me. Would I have it again? sure. I bought a variety pack from Numi so it only came with one of these tea bags but I would make it again if I run across another bag. It is not bad, I just have other Chai teas that I prefer over this one.

I like lighter blacks, but this is too light. I mostly get cinnamon and nutmeg, maybe a little bit of anise and a bare hint of cardamom in the back ground. I’ve had worse bagged chais, but it’s a bagged chai. Comforted by the fact that I don’t need to add sugar or cream for sweetness though.

A good chai. Slight spiciness. Even though its an assam i can’t taste it that well

Numi Golden Chai truly is golden, which surprised me a bit since the base tea is Assam. I’d have guessed Ceylon, but probably there is just a high spice-to-tea ratio in this blend.

Since I was experimenting with almond-coconut milk today, I tried it for this glass and found the resultant adulterated liquor too weak—unsurprisingly. I’ll try again with light cream, or perhaps I’ll steep some bags directly in the almond-coconut milk next time.

I noticed that this chai lacks cloves, which can sometimes be problematic for me, so this blend holds potential. It might be better in the loose leaf form or else amped up with some extra Assam. I find CTC Assam very helpful in rescuing what I refer to as “spice cabinet chai”…

I have to start off by saying that Numi is probably the first tea bag I ever had that really “wowed” me. I have tried many of their teas and if I see their name, I feel that it is going to be quality. So, that is why I got this Chai. I have been on a Chai kick, with the colder weather. This Chai is good. Not great, but I did enjoy it. I think that the cardamon may have been a little off for me, when I try to put a finger on it. I still love Numi, just will try a different Chai next time. The Holiday one sounds good.

Very nice for a tea bag Chai. Drinking it this morning with a bit of honey and milk and it comes out lovely with rich spice flavor and a fairly complex blend of spices. It’s got a nice cinnamon and ginger taste with a nice balance of cardamom and subtle anise (not usually fond of anise, but I like it here). Doesn’t hurt that it’s all fair trade organic too. It’s a very nice alternative to powdered Chai mixes when I’m traveling and can’t really lug all the tea gear about. It also didn’t get bitter on me despite having to nuke the water in the microwave for a few minutes because the hot water dispenser was pretty weak. Definitely taking this on future travels for ease of use.
