Backlogging from yesterday due to a 7 hour power outage in my town…

I had a great tea log for this tea written yesterday, but when the power went out, it got deleted some how. So I’m going to keep this one really short and sweet, because thats basically how this tea was. The cup only took me about 3 minutes to finish and it was pleasantly sweet. The peach aroma and smell are my favorite of all the teas I’ve tried and the green/white teas blend perfectly. My favorite tea to date.

The boyfriend and I went out for breakfast this morning and I ordered this at the restaurant. Just taking a sniff of the tea revealed a heady fragrance of sweet fruit. I didn’t have a timer of course, so I tried to use my watch to time the steeping. The package recommended 3 minutes so that’s what I went for.

Upon tasting I found the tea to be quite delicate and slightly sweet in the way that white teas (particularly bai mu dans) can be. The fruitiness was only a faint echo but it still made a good impression. Part of the problem might be that it was steeped in one of those little metal teapots which had more than a cup’s worth of water, thereby diluting the tea a bit. Despite that it was a still an enjoyable cuppa and it made my breakfast feel very decadent. :D

I brewed myself up a cup of this tea this morning and it’s way bitter today. I don’t know if I steeped it a second too long or what, but not enjoying it as much this time around. Will try again tomorrow and keep you posted, maybe a bad batch.

This teabag screams fruity and peachy with a powerfully sweet scent.

Steeping gives the brew a deep blonde color with an equally deep fruity peachy aroma.

The flavor is dark and the fruit is smooth, although there is not enough to blend completely with the tea, nor is it as powerful to par with it’s scent.

Although you can distinguish tea from fruit, the tea is good, and the fruit is well enough to enjoy fully.

It begins flowery and sweet at the tip of your tongue and becomes overpoweringly bitter as it moves back.

Nice name, but in reality utterly unremarkable. Even just walking down the supermarket aisle, there are much better options. [internal score: maybe 62ish.]

I was very surprised to find I actually enjoy this blend. Most peach teas taste artificial to me or are sickly sweet (stevia) but this one tasted natural and was not too sweet or overpowering. I could even taste the pleasant tea base.

I can taste several fruits, most notable stone fruits like apricot and peach. I also taste some other fruit, but I’m not sure what it is. They served my tea super hot (boiling) so I burnt my tongue and couldn’t taste as much. There is a bit of sweetness, like nectar and ripe fruit. I find this adds to the overall appeal.

I may try this iced some day, I think it would be fantastic served cold.

I might have to try this one, then. I’ve had a really hard time finding a peach tea I like.

Arby

They gave me boiling hot water with the teabag already in it, so I made sure I took the teabag out pretty quick. I suspect if you left the teabag in longer than ?I did you would end up with gross overpowering flavour. Try ~2 minutes, taste, than try steeping longer if needed.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. That’s probably part of my problem, I prefer teas that I can leave steeping for a while if necessary, since my kids often interrupt me in the middle of making a cup of tea.

Another sample from The Cookie Lady! There’s a few teas I’ve always really wanted to try from Mighty Tea Leaf but this is the first one I’ve tried! Not a bad one to start off with actually. (:
It says on here that this one has a lot of melon flavors, but I mostly just taste canaloupe and white peaches. It’s kinda sweet, kinda tart-y. It’s a nice blend of flavors. I don’t think that I would buy this one myself, but it’s a nice tea to sample. Definitely makes me more interested in their other teas though. Hopefully in the future I can swap with someone who has the teas from this company I’d like to try. Because on their website it doesn’t seem like you can just get samples of their teas, which is annoying…but oh well. Happy to have tried this one! Thanks again for the sample, The Cookie Lady!!

I enjoy this brand, as I’ve said before. I like this tea – it is great hot but also is very good iced. It is juicy and tropical, with a bit of green from the tea itself. A solid bagged option.
