Upon another try this morning and then checking out my previous review, I can’t help but laugh. Was I truly saying I preferred Bigelow’s English Breakfast to this? A whole leaf tea bag compared to a measly tea bag which is fine in it’s own right but certainly not in the same category? Hahaha. I have to laugh at myself. :)

This tasted really good this morning. Getting ready to have a second steep- love that about Mighty Leaf.

smile I tried a bag of Taylors of Harrogate English Breakfast the other day, and it was way more bitter than my good old Twining tea bags…but who knows, maybe it was a dud bag? hehe

:D How experienced are you with loose/whole leaf? Forgive me, I can’t remember if you’re one of the people who has stepped out of the bagged comfort zone recently or not. If you are then maybe it’s a question of having gained experience. If not then maybe you were just in a different sort of mood that day. :)

Tried a resteeping with the same teabag from yesterday. I’ve never actually resteeped a tea before. This isn’t bad. It still has the same, nice smooth flavor/body and taste. I also used vanilla cream and a little less sugar than yesterday. Am considering buying this tea for mornings like this. I think I’d like to have a morning tea at breakfast. I can see this becoming a nice ritual, if not at least for weekends as sometimes my weekday mornings are a bit crazy.

Set your tea free and dump the bag. Mighty Leaf is a fine tea brand…take out your scissors and prepare for freedom. Just pour the leaves into your pot, you will of course require a strainer. Have fun.

GROSS!

It smells like sweet hay during hay season, and tastes just as bad!

MaddHatter

Not, not that I have tasted hay… but

Keep in mind that I have absolutely drowned this in a sea of steamed soy milk, because as I posted yesterday, my new hack is to get a cup of tea with steamed soy milk for a measly $1 at the campus coffee shop.

Anyway, I’m really digging on black tea lately, so I thought I’d try this one. I can’t say it held up that well to my milk-treatment, even with my leaving the tea bag in the cup and risking oversteeping. However, what I do taste of it is actually a rather mild, almost sweet cup of black tea. Not particularly astringent. I’d recommend this one to those who like black tea, but generally don’t like the mouth-feel of it / the bitterness. I’m actually enjoying it, but I’m not sure I’d consider it a breakfast black tea. More like a nice tea-time tea.

I was not a fan. The flavors didn’t work for me. I have another to try and am hoping it is because something was wrong because this really tasted weird.

From a delicious brunch. This got bitter way too quickly. I’ve had this before and it’s just okay.

Brewed up at 3 minutes, and is much better. Still not terribly impressed with it, but it’s caffeinated, and at this point, I really need that.

I’m having a hard time straying from the black and black flavored teas today so I will just go with my craving, I suppose. This isn’t much for scent but it’s a nice bold taste with out the bold aftertaste – that is. Fair to Good.
