Merci Mille Fois

I really liked this one, a black tea with fruity berry notes- I detected strawberry, blueberry and raspberry and there might be a bit of peach hiding in there. It’s very natural-tasting, not artificial.

There are a lot of fruity teas out there but this one doesn’t seem to have much, if any, hibiscus added. It’s a nice change from the typical zingy fruit teas which rely on hibiscus to bring the tartness. As usual, the black tea base nicely complements the flavouring. It’s astringent but not overly so and creates a nice base for the berry flavours to shine through.

As it cools, I do get a bit of an ashy taste, so I’d say this one is best drunk piping hot.

Berry- mostly strawberry, perhaps a touch of raspberry.

I thought I didn’t have a raspberry tea for the August Sipdown Challenge, but CameronB’s comment that this had raspberry sent me to check my tin because I was remembering peach and strawberry. The tin description just says peach and strawberry but if you go on the website, they mention the raspberry flavor first, I think.

This is one of my favorite Lupicia teas. It is so fruity and absolutely dripping with delicousness. Goes great with just about everything and is a lovely stand alone cup as well. I am shocked there are no tasting notes from me on it here, because this is one Superanna gave me and I loved it so much I bought a refill when the first tin ran out.

And I’ll do it again. See if I don’t. Shelf staple.

It was the perfect tea for the last couple of days, as we’ve launched ourselves into our over-100-degree weather.

This is one of the teas from last year’s Lupicia group buy that I just got around to recently. It reminds me a lot of a plum oolong I used to like back in the day.

Dry leaf smells like plum, pomegranate, and raspberry. When heated, it becomes more plummy with notes of overripe berries and a little sweet potato. The flavor closely matches the aroma. Nice, tart flavor of plum, pomegranate, and dark cherry. There’s supposed to be white peach and strawberry in this blend too but I didn’t detect it. Normally I’m leery of tart/sour teas (I’m looking at you, hibiscus) but here it’s executed very well and is not overpowering at all.

Tastes good both on its own and blended with a straight black tea.

I was reorganizing my tea cupboard a bit yesterday and found a bit of this in a tiny tin, so I figured I’d put it out on the counter to be finished off. One fewer tin to organize, heh heh…

I quite like this tea. It has a lovely soft and sweet peach flavor that is delicate yet somewhat creamy-tasting. The raspberry is more of a raspberry jam flavor to me, as it lacks the tartness of fresh raspberries. But it adds a nice richness to the more ethereal white peach flavor. I’m not sure whether I get strawberry?

Anyway, it’s good. For some reason I don’t tend to crave peach teas, so I’m not sure it will be a reorder for me. But would definitely recommend it for peach tea lovers!

Shae’s ADVENT CALENDAR, December 19

Oh, another Lupicia blend? And I am first one to write tasting note? Whoa! It smells super nice; I think it is raspberry and red currants. Bit of plums maybe as well. Anyway, it is very nice!

Yep, apparently it should be raspberry tea and from Lupicia. Thank you Shae for including at least few teas from them.

We celebrated my mother 58th birthday today, so we got another family gathering, probably last one this year, as our traditional (annual) one on 26th is cancelled due to Covid-19. So, closest family together. Luckily, I was able to enjoy my tea in calm and nice environment, so I am able to say something about this tea.

It is very nice tea with fresh and juicy raspberry taste, sweet aroma of them as well. They say white peaches and maybe there are hints of them, but I really again liked, same with their Strawberry blend, the base. The base is noticeable for sure! And not just that, it is a great companion to the juicy raspberry flavour, but it’s not super sweet. I think that teaspoon of sugar would make the flavour pop, but as I am used to drink teas plain, I will try to keep it in mind for next steep.

Another cup please! :)
