Love this!! I want something with chestnut in it in this cool autumn morning. This is just exactly what I need, the chestnut flavour is subtle and goes really well with the major note – dark chocolate flavour. Although I must admit that the taste is not as amazing as the extremely chocolatey aroma!! This reminds me of high quality French pastries (think Pierre Herme and Joel Robuchon) and makes a great dessert tea.

Ysaurella, in Hong Kong we also have to queue for PH macarons! But the queue is not as long as the one for Laduree macarons… the latter is more popular among the locals :P I personally love PH more though!

This tea reminds me of Lupicia’s Cookie but with some nuts!

It is mildy roasty, creamy, and definitely nutty. I’m not getting much chocolate though. I think it might be one of those teas that is begging to be sweetened to pop the flavors out. I’ll try that next time :)

I got to try this one at the store. (The tea name is French, and I like it.)

Scent- nutty, cocoa. Flavour- creamy, chocolate, a nice nuttiness. Kinda reminds of Nutella, but a chestnut version. It also reminds me of this really good chestnut/chocolate torte I made in a baking class. Very good, and much better on the hot side.

This is the 3rd of 4 dessert like teas from Lupicia that Dexter sent me. The last one is Chocolate and Strawberry Puer, which is likely to get me going tomorrow. Anyway…

This is a nice tea…it’s a little nutty, a little sweet, and there’s a hint of chocolate. It smells really good dry! I made this with a little cane sugar and milk today, but I think it might be better without the milk, so I’ll try it that way first, next time, and decide if I like it better with milk.

I’d say so far, I’m liking all of the Lupicia teas I have had, though the blacks have been the best so far. This is another one I wouldn’t mind having around regularly.

Yeah, some good stuff for sure! I’ll probably branch out to the fruity next…but I might try one of the other teas next, in between the fruity and desserty/nutty. Maybe one of the HP ones?

Chesnut flavoring always smells a bit weird to me, so this tea definitely has that smell… and I’m finding it comforting. I wish there were more chocolate in here than just at the end of the sip, and it’s very much a milk, light chocolate flavor. The chestnuts come through in the flavor as well, although I doubt I’d know if someone didn’t tell me. Still, really creamy, vanilla-y, kinda roasty (almost) and comforting. I can see myself ordering more of this eventually.

Yay for Lupicia orders, and for having a tea mule to grab packages for me across the border from my box over there! :)

Anyone who enjoys chestnuts would enjoy this tea. It has a truly impressive chestnut flavor. Rich and delicious. Plus, as if that was not enough, there is a chocolatey warmth that really rounds out the cup. Thank you Dustin for sending some of this my way.

I don’t know what happened, but somewhere during the sleepless night (thanks to allergy meds) my sense of smell and taste returned to me! It has been maybe two weeks since I have been able to taste anything, so I have missed out on a lot of tea drinking opportunities and need to play catch up!

First up, a selection from my recent Lupicia order! I am already eyeing more Lupicia teas on their website now that they have Cookie restocked. I’m so weak. I’m surrounded by tea and all I can think about is more.

Anyways, this is the second chestnut tea I have had. The first was a green so it is interesting trying it as a black. Unsweetened this tea has the slightest bitterness to it that makes me think a lower temp would serve it better, but once I sweeten it a little it smooths out. The base is creamy, something I have tasted in other Lupicia teas, Sweet Potato to be exact. I can taste the chocolate and the sweetness of the chestnut. I’m picking up on the described astringency that I don’t recall the green tea having, but I don’t remember chestnuts having an astringent skin either. This tea is good, but not overly impressive at the moment. I’m guessing my newly rediscovered sense of taste might be off a bit since I keep smelling plastic, so we will see if my opinion of this tea changes in the future.

The flavour is AMAZING. Like drinking Nutella, but without the cloying sweetness. This tea really has body, like it feels substantial in your mouth. Possibly my favourite of all the teas Lupicia makes – and that’s saying something because I’m absolutely addicted to them! Steep it a long time for the perfect intense taste, and use plenty of milk and a little sugar. I ran out of milk and decided to use a bit of soy nog…and it was actually pretty good. Warms you up on cold days. Strong enough to withstand a second steeping as well.

This is a beautiful tea. The chocolate is not sweet, but very true to its cocoa nature. I have it with milk & a little raw sugar.
