From Infussion

Tea leaves used for producing matcha are shaded for 20 days before the harvest. This guarantees low level of tannins and unusually high antioxidant, caffeine and l-theanine levels. This is the only Camellia Sinensis product that has stems and veins of the leaves removed. Slow, cold grinding using granite mills is needed to produce finest Matcha and it can take up to 1h to produce 30g of this unique tea.

This product is well suited for thin tea (jap. usucha) and cooking purposes. The taste is unmistakable and could be called the definition of freshness. If you have never encountered any kind of refreshment or clear-headed feeling from tea infusion – give Matcha a try! You won’t be disappointed as this product has 137 times the antioxidant amount of regular green tea 1.

This is a POWERFUL Matcha! I had some yesterday but didn’t have enough time to review it completely. I do like it but will review and rate it officially next time I have it!

First of all, big thank you to Infussion for sending out free samples. I probably never would have gotten out of my comfort zone enough to try matcha otherwise.

Now, I’m going to hold off on rating it because I’m not sure I made it right. I tossed the four gram sample into a water bottle with two cups of water and some honey and shook it up. Took a sip, didn’t like it. Went to class, came back, tried it again and down the whole bottle in about two seconds. So I really don’t know about that. XD

Overall I’m sure this is an excellent matcha for the experienced matcha taster. The quality seems to be pretty high (and heavens knows it tasted better than the starbucks green tea frappachino. Though I think the syrup starbucks uses is to blame for that one.) But really, I have no idea what I’m doing. =,D

I still have the ceremonial grade, so I’m going to have to try and make that one properly. XD

4 oz. sample?? Maybe 0.4? Just trying to figure out how you made it! I think most people use between 1-2tsp/2 cups water when making a smoothie, and perhaps less when drinking it straight.

I meant 4 grams! Wow lol.

For some reason, that didn’t even occur to me, ahaha. Sounds much better!
