Green Tea Lemongrass

Thanks to Mel for sending me some of this tea.

Well, I’ve certainly tasted better Green Tea with Lemongrass blends, but this isn’t horrible. It definitely tastes to me like the citrus flavor of the lemongrass has been enhanced with lemon flavoring, because this tastes much more lemon-y than lemongrass usually tastes. I am not getting a lot from the rose petals or the peppermint that is supposed to be in this blend, although some mint notes do weave in and out of the flavor as I sip. Just-barely-there notes though.

For me, the best thing about Good Earth Teas are the inspirational notes on the tags. Here’s what my tag had to say:

Backlogging from yesterday

Absolutely one of my favorite teas EVER! It’s so simple: green tea, lemon grass, ‘natural flavors’ (okay, maybe not so simple). But the blend is a wonderful, citrusy flavorful adventure.

This tea started my love affair with lemongrass herbal teas. I did run out, however, so I went so far as to swipe a leaf of lemongrass bush from our local conservatory. Sssh! Don’t tell them. It was delicious though, so I have to compliment their craftsmanship.

I picked up this tea at the grocery store after I was done at the thrift store. (I actually found a really pretty bone China tea cup and a gold colored framed photo of a tea cup and it said “tea time.” How cute is that?!) Sorry back to my tasting note! ;) This was my first time trying a tea from Good Earth! I love how it smelled while it was steeping! So refreshing! I loved how well I could taste the lemongrass! It has a light sweetness to it that is really enjoyable! I can’t wait to try more teas from Good Earth because I really loved this one! ♥

I’m enjoying a bagged tea at work this afternoon. The lemongrass flavor overpowers any green tea that may or may not be present. Nevertheless, this is an enjoyable afternoon tea.

This was in my company’s kitchen this morning so I’m giving it a shot. Smells great and tastes pretty good for a paper bagged tea. I’ve added lots of honey. Ingredient list is green tea, lemongrass, “natural flavors” (?), rose petals and peppermint. Why does it also contain soy lecithin? Need to keep an eye on this ingredient in other teas.

Light and refreshing. The peppermint is subtle enough and not overpowering. Kind of have to know it’s there, but it works well with the lemongrass.

Gave up coffee and I’m becoming a green tea addict! I suppose worse things could happen :)
A good basic green tea blend for the cupboard. Light and refreshing.

I have found one of my favorites if green tea. I was in the search for a lemongrass one without a lot of bells and whistles. It delicately touches the pallet making it enjoyable plain or adding some lemon juice with honey (I mainly add this when sour throat or cough entraps me). You can find this always in my cupboard ready to steep.

This is another favorite for when I have to make do with bagged green tea. It’s forgiving with the water temperature and doesn’t taste bitter like a lot of bagged green tea. It’s light, and the lemon grass adds a nice flavor to it. Perfect for when I have to travel and can only take bagged tea along. With a low enough water temperature I leave it in the mug steeping as long as I can for extra lemon grass flavor.
