In advance I’m just sayin Lord help me! :)
Pure Jasmine tea is always a danger for me.
But lets go open the bag…
Haha while cutting the bag open i cut my finger with scissors. Thats soooo not a good start :)
Smells like jasmine – for me ewwwy…
Tastes not so bad. Somewhere in between of good and bad. Jasmine flawor is quite strong but green tea flavor is there too. The black vanilla jasmine was bit better tho. Better combo.
Am not rating it again. It would be round 50ish if i did… Wouldnt buy it.

I’m finally getting to the part of the GM sampler where it’s tea that either doesn’t intrigue me or that I’m dreading. I never thought that a Jasmine tea would be part of either of those categories, but here I am and there it is.

This was a much better experience than GM’s Jasmine Pearls. The packet smelled pleasant enough (yup, it’s jasmine) and not once did a waft of “tootsie roll” happen whilst I poured the tea into the cup. Hooray! But I did sense its presence sort of hovering in the background waiting to spring it’s candy-trap-o-doom. That never happened, but that possible threat kept me from truly enjoying my two steeps.

On both steeps the tea aspect was pretty unremarkable. I really could not taste it. It was like I’d steeped a variety of jasmine that has a slightly sweeter aspect. No tea in it. And as it cooled it just bacame more jasminey. I think that it might indeed make a good iced tea (as the packet asserted), but I’m not willing to purchase more in order to find out. M

I love jasmine, and this tea smells wonderful, so I had high hopes. By wonderful I mean that the jasmine is not subtle. I like bold, full flavours and this really smells like jasmine. Additionally, it’s a very pure fragrance, not like perfume.

But in the end, it doesn’t measure up to jasmine greens I’ve had in the past. With a recommended steep for four minutes at water “just below the boiling point,” I figured I’d be perfectly safe with 175°, but that didn’t turn out to be the case. There was some bitterness, right from the start, that only increased as the tea cooled. As well, the dry mouth factor here is pretty high.

That said, I’ve still got the empty packet next to me so I can sniff it every once in a while. It really does smell lovely. =)

Golden Moon Sampler Tea #20 (…My count must be off, because I don’t have enough teas left to only be at 20…oh well!)
Edit: Ah, there’s the problem! two 17s…and two 8s and 7s and 6s…yeah I fail at counting.
Let’s try that again: Golden Moon Sampler Tea #24

It’s a little silly to me that I’m drinking the Jasmine Tea AFTER the Jasmine Pearls and the Vanilla Jasmine. Shouldn’t I have started with that? Formed a baseline or something? Clearly fate does not think so. Actually, fate probably thinks its funny. That’s the problem with consigning yourself to fate. You have to put up with its sense of humor.

So this tea was definitely hurt by going last in the group of jasminey things in the sampler. It basically tastes meh. I mean, not BAD or anything. I like jasmine tea and I like this, but it just doesn’t stand out to me at all. I think both the vanilla jasmine and the jasmine pearls have more character.

I do enjoy jasmine teas. This just was just ok. I like lighter flavoring of jasmine. Whatever flavoring of jasmine in the Vanilla Jasmine was amazing. This is lots of jasmine, just not what I like as much.

Days off work = plenty of time for tea. YAY.

I’m kind of torn on how to judge this one. As a tea, it’s pretty fantastic, but I’m not sure it’s to my taste. When they say jasmine, they mean jasmine. It’s seriously all I smell/taste. I went with a shorter steeping time (the packet says 2 to 4 minutes) because I didn’t want to be overwhelmed. Good call on that – I don’t know if I’d be able to handle if it were any stronger. The sample was pretty packed full so perhaps I’ll try it iced later on. (This is my new thing, apparently… anything that can be iced, shall.)

The jasmine fragrance explodes upon opening the packet. Golden infusion starts out very smooth with some sweet notes; a brisk end. Some bitterness develops as tea cools. Subsequent infusions remain fragrant but more bitter overall. Jasmine tea is generally not one of my favorites, and this one did not change my mind.
