Carry Travel Mug

I LOVE this travel mug. It keeps my tea hot for hours, is is easy to clean, and that built in filter is perfect if you sometimes like your teas on the strong side! My husband bought me one a few years ago & I used it so much he bought me two smaller ones this last Yule, so now I can have three different teas ready to go! LOL

Not a fan. I would call this more a thermos than a travel mug. To me a travel mug is something you can drink out of on the go (walking, etc). I find this one too awkward to drink out of on the go, and more so to bring a hot drink to a place that you have a separate mug to pour into. Somewhere you’re going to sit down and relax to have your tea. It does keep the tea hot for a long time. Prefer the lock top which does the same thing, but much easier to drink out of.

Keeps tea warm for hours. Love the handle for easy travel. I clean mine with Smart Soak from Mandala Tea and any tea stains are gone. It looks brand new! I don’t use the hidden tea pouch because moisture gets in and ruins the stored tea.

Just bought my first Carry Mugs to replace some severely used and abused timolinos.

Personally, I got the “mango” one because orange is the best colour and the new Me to We one which supports Kenya by giving six months of clear water to a child in a developing community. Honestly, that was one of the most guilt free purchases I’ve made as of late.

So far I’ve only used the Me to We one, but I definitely think it’s an improvement upon the timolinos. For starters, a larger brew basked it ALWAYS a good thing, and the ‘handle’ on the top is really, really convenient. Plus, it seems to retain heat just as well as my timolinos do/did. And the cherry on top, the design is much cuter. I’m honestly kind of slapping myself from waiting so long…

I was looking for a new travel mug to purchase and decided to give the carry travel mug by DAVIDsTEA a try. I have yet to own one of their travel tumblers and was pretty curious to test it out.

I’ll admit the first thing that got my attention was the colour. I purchased the carry travel mug in mint, and I’m a huge fan of all things mint (as in the colour and the tea).

The second thing I also really like was that it has a handle. This is a huge plus for me, since I often commute using public transit in busy downtown traffic, and my hands are usually tied up with other bags and my purse. Having that extra handle makes life easier (as sometimes I hang onto it by my pinky if I need to).

Overall I’m fairly impressed with my carry travel mug. It has a stainless steel inner wall that keeps my tea piping hot for hours. It has a removable mesh infuser basket that is a fairly decent size that allows for good leaf expansion. However you aren’t able to control the steep times, so if you’re on the go, trying to discard the tea leaves may be a pain.

It also has a secret tea compartment to store extra tea, although I tend to find if the travel mug is not staying in a constant upright position, the leaves tend to get wet and damp. It is a neat idea though.

This is the best travel mug I have ever used. I mostly left it uncapped (mostly) but it kept my tea HOT for a long time. I underestimated it and burned the crap out of my tongue when taking a sip. Towards the end it was warm but still a good drinking temperature. That was over a period of 6-7 hours. The design includes an infuser basket that attaches to a strainer. The infuser basket is detachable. Underneath the lid is an extra compartment where you can store extra loose tea. I didn’t have any issues with the those tea leaves getting moist or anything for the time I had the cap on (close to an hour).

About my three 12 ounce Timolinos and my two 16 ounce travel carry mugs from David’s tea.

I. adore. my. three. 12 ounce Timolinos. Adore them and use them daily. They are light, leakproof, and feel ever so good in my hands. They keep my teas hot forever.

And yes, I also have two David’s 16 ounce travel carry mugs. Which I also use regularly. I prefer the look and feel of the Timolinos, but I like the 16 oz size of the carry mugs.

I find that the travel carry mugs retain the scent and flavour of highly flavoured teas, so I am careful to not use them with highly perfumed teas, such as Elderflower Spritz for example. Because of this, I am also careful not to use the carry mugs with delicately flavoured teas as well.

I bought all three on different sales as David’s in discontinuing them due to now having their own design of the same product. However, the quality is such that I would still buy them at regular price without regrets.

I do not use the steeping baskets of either the Timolinos or the carry mugs. I prefer to steep in my Steeper and pour the ready tea into the containers. The openings are too narrow to use with David’s stainless steel steeper baskets.

Handiest mug I have bought! I have been using it for a little under a year and it hasn’t fail, fallen apart, or caused any mishaps on me. And I am the type of person to have awkward spills all over the place.

I love this travel tea mug!! but I just took it out of the cupboard to use it today and it fell apart on me :(( I am so sad because it was great. I can’t even return it now because I bought it a few months back and don’t have the receipt. Clearly i need something sturdier. the netting in the top of the basket fell off because the seal broke. I didnt even drop it, i just took it out of the cupboard and opened it

I love this mug. The double mesh (a top over a basket) keeps every kind of tea I’ve thrown at it in the basket and not in my mouth. This keeps tea/water hot for 5+ hours. It keeps the water so hot that I often need to add cold water or else I burn my mouth with boiling water. The extra storage spot is okay. My tea usually gets a little bit damp but it’s a good as long as I don’t toss the container around. It hasn’t leaked on me yet. I’ve been very happy with this purchase.
