A nice banana version of a pina colada herbal. Lots of creamy coconut, banana, dried apple for a bit of sweetness, some tropical fruits ( citrus or peach). I swear I can taste pineapple but I’m not sure if there is any pineapple in this.

TTB #4

I’m a sucker for banana-flavored tea, so I had to give this one a shot! David’s Tea can be pretty hit and miss for me, but I like this one! The flavor is creamy banana coconut with just a touch of dark chocolate and almonds. I wouldn’t mind if the flavor were a bit stronger, but it’s very pleasant and they didn’t ruin it with hibiscus like so many of their other herbal blends! I’ve definitely had similar teas I liked more, but this is one I’d happily drink again.

Now this is the tea I had confused with cococabana coola from Bird & Blend. This one is totally banana. It’s the only thing I taste really except maybe some nuttiness. Somehow it’s not super great. A little thin and also chalky. It’s decently enjoyable, but not the banana tea I dreamed of. I took a bite of a big banana piece after steeping, and that was a mistake. This is not one of those teas you can munch afterward. My overall opinion of this tea…the banana flavor is totally there, but it’s not as refreshing as I’d hoped. I don’t find myself grabbing for it very much just because it’s a bit weak and boring.

Ah, this must be why I got the other one confused as well! The two names really are quite similar.

Sipdown (605)!

Finished this off over the weekend; made a giant ass Western sized pot of it and stretched that out over all eight episodes of Russian Doll during a rather spur of the moment Netflix binge. I knew literally nothing about Russian Doll going into it, but I was super enthralled by it – really well done, imo. I’ve had the soundtrack stuck in my head ever since…

10/10 would recommend!

The tea itself was good too – very creamy banana notes accented by coconut, and a hint of chocolate. I like that I get a tiny bit of hot chocolate because it almost makes this feel like a rich banana hot chocolate; but also doesn’t take away from the fact that first and foremost this IS a banana tea. So, super nice! A little sad to see it go, but also happy to still be making sipdown progress with my stash.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

Kittenna

Was this quite old, or did they re-release it?

Roswell Strange

It was rereleased in August with the anniversary collection.

I like it. I like it more than I like the Banana Split tea, also from David’s. The banana flavour in this one is brighter somehow and the coconut brings along a sweetness to it. Like all teas, I drank this one black and unsweetened, sipping from almost hot to almost cold. I think I’d like to have this one handy or at least in my cupboard from time to time.

I remember this tea catching my eye when it was first part of DT’s lineup, but I never got around to buying some, so I was glad to see it resurrected as an online-only purchase.

I just love this tea – it’s the perfect mix of sweet, fruity bananas and creamy, nutty coconut. A lot of a fruit teas tend towards tart flavours – which can be fine under certain circumstances, but I’m glad to find a caffeine-free fruit tea that doesn’t take that route.

I’ve had this tea, as an iced latte, several times before. Based on a previous experience with a banana/chocolate tea (DT’s Banana Cream Pie – blech!), I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this blend. I had it hot for the first time this morning with a bit of white chocolate mocha creamer and thoroughly enjoyed it. I can taste every note in this herbal tea (hot or cold), and, to me, it tastes like a banana split with all the toppings. I’m glad I stocked up on this a few months ago.
