Chocolate Covered Marshmallow

CuppaGeek Advent Calendar – Day 22

I cheated slightly with this. I had grabbed another tea and then I saw the marshmallow and chocolate chip in the dry leaf of this and was like I want those flavors. I switched the one I had originally pulled (but not yet scratched) with this one. I excitedly scratched away the label and was happy to see Chocolate Covered Marshmallow scrawled across the label.

This is a nice tea. Very chocolate-y, though more semi-sweet than milk. It’s also fluffy from the marshmallows but I did expect more marshmallow flavor. It’s not quite as creamy or chocolate-y as I anticipated. It’s also not as sweet.

Advent Day 11, From the Depths of the Grab Bag.

“Smells kinda like, uh butter rum, butterscotch, caramel. Not too bad, I can taste the black tea underneath but the smell is like caramel macchiato or something. Smells really sweet but it’s not at all. It’s not something I would pick but it’s okay. Yeah, I might have it again but I’d say it’s a 7. It’s not a chocolate covered marshmallow. shakes head Not a chocolate covered… burps Caramel macchiato — that’s the new name of it. Maybe the marshmallow makes it taste.. or makes it smell so sweet like that. Right little pixie? Right little monkey? as she gives the cat a love shake "

Day 11 Advent
This one was a decent and enjoyable cup. Chocolate teas are always hard for me ‘cause they rarely actually taste like chocolate. I’d say this was a bit of a creamy vanilla with chocolate tea. Not half bad, though not quite it’s namesake. Still though, i liked it.

It’s my turn to try this tea.

CuppaGeek ADVENT CALENDAR, December 9

Another tea with marshmallows. And it smells like chocolate cappuccino.
Brewed… well it’s pretty much expected — creamy milk chocolate with sweet aftertaste. Not bad in matter what it should be, a chocolate covered marshmallow, but not a fan ofthis somehow. Maybe it’s too milky and waxy to me, instead of my favourite dark and bitter chocolates? Maybe it’s sweet for me. IDK.

Adding some dairy would be again interesting with this blend.Too bad I almost never do any tea lattes. I think it’s because I am afraid of ruining it; hihi.

Thanks to steepster I can now scratch off to see what advent tea I am drinking instead of peeling the sticker off(and trying to decipher what is left underneath).
The first cup was yummy, chocolate and creamy, with a hint of mint at the end? Not sure about the caramel flavoring in the first steep, but it replaces the marshmallow in the second steep and I’m getting weaker chocolate with the caramel. Overall an enjoyable cup, but I liked the chocolate covered snowballs better. Maybe I just don’t think marshmallows belong in tea, they belong in hot chocolate. Glad I got a taste of this though, I am enjoying this advent.

Cuppa Geek Advent Day 3

I made my husband smell the packet for this one and it wasn’t cruel like last time when I had already drunk all the delicious tea. This time we were sharing. He said it smelled like candy, and then he said maybe it was maple syrup or maple candy. I think it was the caramel that made him think of maple syrup because once that suggestion was put in my head, I smelled it, too.

My packet said to make it at 185F so I did, but now I see that the website says 212F, which makes more sense for black tea but I can tell you that 185F worked cuz it was DA BOMB. The tiny marshmallows melted away in the steeping basket and I combined the steeps for the sake of strength, although we both had a small amount of unadulterated first steep.

My husband doesn’t like to describe tea because he says he isn’t good at it, so he usually makes jokes like, “it is hot and has tea-like qualities.” With this one, he kept saying, “It’s soooo smooth. It goes down so easily.”

What surprised me is that he usually hates chocolate in tea because he says chocolate flavoring smells like mildew to him and is a scent that really lingers. He really hates the smell of Harney’s Florence and Chocolate Mint. But the chocolate in this did not bother him at all.

This is one I would deffo re-order and I would LOVE to try it as a latte as well. It isn’t on the site right now, but maybe soon…
