Lovely and sweet and spicy and comforting. Like most fruit teas, it will curdle milk, but I do have memories of drinking it with some kind of milk (dairy or not) which made for a comforting, mild drink perfect for late in the evening on a misty autumn day.

I’d love to give a more detailed description of the taste, but my Mom keeps beating me to this tea. She loves to make iced tea out of it and that uses up 4 or 5 bags per pot. I’m not a big fan of fruity teas but my memory is telling me that this one is exceptionally good and not too sweet or syrupy. There is a video about it on YouTube by someone who perhaps is a little too fond of this tea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de0NcRmxVwI

1 bag for 250mL water @100C, steeped 4-7 minutes. Sometimes I just leave the bag in.

An old favourite form university days. A rare fruit tisane that does not just smack me upside the head with hibiscus — Celestial Seasonings relies way too much on hibiscus — though the dreaded H is in there. Still, this is a gorgeous tisane, with the orange and spices able to stand up to the hibiscus and make it behave. I really dig the cloves and coriander here. Strong and comforting. One caveat: like many tisanes, it needs a fairly long steep to taste of anything at all.

I raided a friend’s tea cupboard and found this one. I tried it a long time ago and didn’t care for it but it was time to try again. I enjoyed the orange but there is one subtle flavor that I don’t like, perhaps too much coriander or cloves. I would drink again but not something I love.

A little too spicy for my taste for an orange tea

More from mom’s tea cabinet. She’s a big fan of fruit tea blends. Here’s another one.

This one I like better. The orange fits better with the tea base. The orange is still soothing and prominent, but the tea base is still in the mix. Pretty good balance.

I would like it to be a little less spiced, but it is what it is. Good orange taste, too spicy, could use more tea base taste.

I really enjoy this tea. The spices aren’t very strong, but it has a lovely sweet orange flavor. It doesn’t taste artificial to me at all. I drink it plain, with chai spices, and in a variety of homemade blends, and enjoy it every time.

I honestly don’t understand why so many people like this tea. It has this awfully sweet, almost syrup-y taste, and – much like Celestial Seasonings’ other fruit-flavoured teas – it doesn’t suit those without a sweet tooth.

I was diagnosed with acid reflux and had to give up coffee and black tea. Then, I had to give up green tea. I was stuck with herbals. But, there are many easy to drink ones out there, and I added this to my list. Thankfully, my stomach is healing and my world of tea is opening back up. I am loving oolong currently, but this herbal is one of my go-to tisanes for an evening cup (I’m sensitive to caffeine in the evening). Easy to drink, not super interesting, but not bitter. Pleasant.
