This is the last of the Adagio white teas I got from Meowster’s cupboard clearout a couple summer’s ago (thanks Meowster!). I made the one warm cuppa and then used the rest on a quart of cold brew, like the others.

The base tea of this tastes exactly like the White Pear tea… a bit vegetal, with heavy autumn leaf and wood notes, just without the pear flavor. But I don’t taste any cucumber. I don’t even taste the melon that I get as a natural note out of white tea often, which I find often accompanies cucumber teas. So basically it just tastes like a typical low-quality unflavored Bai Mu Dan. It isn’t bad, but if you are going to drink Bai Mu Dan without the novelty of the flavoring, you may as well drink a nice one, right?

At least with the White Grapefruit tea, I could taste the grapefruit flavor (it just isn’t a flavor that I particularly enjoy), but since I can’t taste this flavor at all, I actually have to rank it lower than the White Grapefruit. (And I see that Adagio currently has this on their “soon to be discontinued” list… I’m honestly not surprised.)

Thanks for the sample, Meowster! I’ve enjoyed having the chance to try these! I only have one more Adagio white in my stash, and it’s a plain white that I purchased ages ago. I wonder how that has held up after all these years…?

I recently read that white teas are supposed to get better with age if stored properly, so it’s probably good?

I actually got this tea from Four Sister’s Soap and Tea Emporium in Richmond KY, but the ingredients seem similar on here. This tea is refreshing. It’s light. There’s not a strong cucumber taste as if I put cucumber in water. I normally don’t like white tea, but I like this one.

Not sure if it’s ‘cause I over did it with tea leaves or if I steeped too long, but this tea isn’t what I was expecting. I’m not really getting the cucumber flavour at all.

Anyways, I will try again. I think I would use a bit less leaves and steep for maybe only 2 or 2.5minutes. We’ll see.

Added 1t of sugar. I can taste the hints of cucumber, and it’s a pleasant pairing with the white tea.

It’s been a good while since I’ve reviewed anything so I thought now would be a good time. The weather is getting colder and it’s the perfect time for a good cup of tea. This is the first winter me and Makayla get to spend together!! With the holidays coming up it certainly puts me in a good mood.

Makayla bought this tea here while back and this is our first time drinking it. It has a unique smell too it, slightly offensive at first but after a couple whiffs not so bad. The taste is crisp with a dry after note. Yet underneath all there’s a sweetness I cant quite put my finger on. It’s an interesting blend I must say I neither overly love it or hate it. It’s something I would grab on occasion and enjoy.

I haven’t had much luck with Adagio’s flavored whites, either.

Meh. I’m not getting much out of this one. There is a slight cucumber taste, but it’s really weak.

No. Just no. It is flat with a paper/cardboard sort of flavor going on and I’m having a really hard time even imagining cucumber.

I really enjoyed this one iced, though it was too much like hot cucumber water warm! It definitely tastes a bit like veggies and is mild and not overpowering at all. Not my favorite, but it was still interesting to try.

Am I the only person who thinks this tea is awesome? Not only because it’s an awesome novelty but it tastes good. I was surprised that the cucumber notes came through clearly. I was tempted to put salt in my tea, which is a first.

The experience did remind me of a spa.
