I agree with you sentiment.

Fuzzy_Peachkin

That’s why my last note is really short.

Indigobloom

that happened to me the other day :(

Terri HarpLady

Yeah, last night I finally gave up & went to bed. So far today seems better.

Tried this one again last night, because it smells so lovely dry that I was having a hard time believing I’d disliked it so much. I used a little more leaf than last time, and made sure there were a few bits of freeze dried strawberry in there. It still smells and tastes a little bit ladybird-ish (I can’t describe it any other way!), but it was an improvement on last time. I actually managed to finish the cup, which is considerably better going. I did get hints of strawberry and a vague sweetness from this, but it’s still not what I was expecting. I’ve bumped the rating up a little to reflect my small improvement, but this one still needs work before I’ll be happy with it. Sugar, maybe? I’ll try that next, anyway.

Hmm. Well…. This is not what I was expecting…. It’s actually much better. I was expecting mostly strawberry but it’s quite the blend of flavors! I’m getting strawberry then rum and then lime. Oh this tea is magical. My boyfriend said it tastes like the circus. The flavors blend very well and are no where near fake tasting. I think I may have found a new favorite (after rootbeer float of course.)!

Lariel of Lórien

That sounds really good.

Backlog:

A really nice summer-y cuppa. The strawberry notes are sweet and very much like a fresh, ripe berry. A little bit of rum-like flavor. A hint of lemon and lime.

A tasty, well-rounded honeybush. The honeybush notes are not overpowering – just a touch of nutty, sweet flavor to it … but nothing that really overwhelms the strawberry daiquiri thing that’s going on with this one.

It’s delicious served hot … but even better iced.

Why isn’t this tea sold out? At this time there’s still lots in stock!

So SDHBYUM! Hot, unsweetened – rummy lime flavor finishing off with some bubblegum strawberry. The honeybush works fantastic with the rum flavoring!
Sweetened and Iced, the strawberry pulls to the front with the lime.
When I was sipping away at this iced, it was like I was drinking a real strawberry daiquiri! I need to have my husband dig out the shaved ice machine and attempt a slushie version.

My only complaint is the strawberry is bubblegum candy in flavor – I personally wanted a stronger, tangy strawberry. The strawberry only pops when this tea is sweetened. However, the honeybush, rum and lime work so well – very tasty! I’ll drink this all summer!

Man, I so wish I could drink honeybush. Mostly because of reviews like this.

This smells of berries, and citrus. Oh, there’s rum? The rum isn’t gone, it’s in my tea. I don’t usually have my cocktails this warm, but this is good. There is a nice daquiri flavour, and I like the strawbeery.

You have to try that iced as well, it’s pretty good. :) Glad you’re enjoying it.

Thanks to RogersCK for this sample!

I’m drinking it hot as I overindulged during dinner tonight (we tried out a great Belgium place that is known for their mussels) and my body could use some honeybush and/or rooibos.

With sweetener, it kind of tastes like strawberry jam. I’m getting a tiny bit of lime, no real rum taste but I’m happy about that. I can imagine that this is amazing iced.

Sipping on a cold brewed one, and it tastes pretty close to the real thing. Too bad I’m down to my last 5g of this :( But at least I still have a quart and a half of the brew left sitting in my fridge.

Other reviews for this honey bush seem spot on but my palate is unable to identify which is rum flavoring and which is lime which sounds odd. The lime, as I can tell smells more lime peel than juice. I can taste occasional flashes of sweetness which I’m guessing comes from freeze-dried strawberries. I am definitely returning to leaving another note when I try this again. Not sure if honeybush coldsteeps well. I chose this tea because all of a sudden had a craving for a strawberry white so I am considering buying the Strawberry Mint Julep White.

Well it certainly tastes like strawberry and rum! Definitely better cold-brewed, as the honeybush then doesn’t get too woodsy, and it’s already cold – I really didn’t like this warm. It’s way better with some added sweetness to bring out the strawberry and counterbalance the woody element.
