Guilt-free natural cherry cola flavors effervesce (Okay, so there are no actual bubbles, but it sure tastes like it) through our sweet red honeybush.
At 52teas.com, you will find unique, hand-blended artisan loose leaf teas: a new limited edition creation every week of the year. We pride ourselves on offering truly unique, one-of-a-kind tea blends that you won’t find anywhere else.
My order from My Sweet Honeybush arrived just a short time ago, I had to immediately brew some… this is one that I was really looking forward to trying because I really loved the Cherry Vanilla Cola from 52Teas and I’m hoping that Frank blended this one with similar finesse.
The aroma is very much like the fragrance (as I remember it) from the Cherry Vanilla Cola.
And yummmmmm! It tastes SO GOOD. It tastes very much like Cherry Coke. I don’t drink a lot of soda except when I happen to be eating out, and if the restaurant has Cherry Coke that is what I’ll choose.
This has a nice sweetness to it (although the flavor is greatly enhanced with a little bit of raw sugar) and the cherry and cola flavors work well with the honeybush. I don’t get a lot of the woodsy flavor that sometimes comes with honeybush – just a nice, sweet flavor.
I like this one… I like it a lot. And I’m betting this is going to be amazing iced!
I’m drinking this iced today. I just got back from a run and it’s 83 out and we don’t have A/C… so the last thing I want is hot tea. I thought I would love this iced. It’s ok iced, but not nearly as good as it is hot. As I feared, when iced, it starts to taste like flat cherry coke. I don’t get the feeling of flat when I am drinking it hot. It still tastes good, don’t get me wrong, but I’ll drink the rest of this bag of tea hot.
Maybe cuz it tastes like flat cola cold? You could steep it in just a bit of hot water and then top it off w/ soda water. And maybe sweeten it too? Just some suggestions.
With all the raving I just had to try this one. I for one have always liked Cherry Coke but in moderation. So when I opened the package I immediately smelled what old fashioned Cherry Cola smelled like when I was a kid. I smelled all natural ingredients with nothing artificial. I was very excited to try it. So I took a sip and at the end of my sip I totally got that bubbly feeling everyone was talking about. Here is the thing, how is this possible? I think I would like to chill this and get some soda water as Cofftea has suggested before and see what happens. Since soda/pop should be cold I bet this would work. To me this is a confusing drink because everything in me says it should not taste this way and I can’t make it work mentally. It is similar to when Pepsi came out with Clear Pepsi and it although it tasted like Pepsi it wasn’t Pepsi and the brain couldn’t accept it because it was clear. I think I need to drink this more and get used to it. I feel I am rambling because this cup has got me all kinds of flabbergasted. I promise to come to this with a clear head later.
How is a coffee flavored cola ordinary? And a coffee flavored cola flavored tea is even less ordinary:)
Oh, no no no no no no no=P This wonderful, yet stupidly discontinued, beverage:

Just read this post and I was another fan of Coke Blak. They used to carry it at the supermarket I worked at at target years ago. It was quite tasty! Not sure how itnwould translate in tea.
Meghann M- prior experience w/ teas flavored with the ingredients of Coke Blak tells me it would be AMAZING. Coffee flavored teas are AMAZING and while I haven’t had a cola flavored tea myself, this is getting good ratings, and I’ve had a rootbeer flavored tea (which is same in theory even though not in taste) and that was AMAZING as well.
Thanks to LiberTEAS I am drinking this gem today!
Between her and Kristin – they and their reviews had me sooooo intrigued! This does NOT disappoint! It’s very unique – truly creative! Smells a lot like a Cherry Coke Float or maybe this is what Cherry Cola would smell like if it has been sitting out in the sun or something. It smells neat tho!
The taste is hard to compare to anything else, actually. I can understand the fizzy thoughts Kristin had…not that it’s actually fizzy itself but it tricks your brain into thinking it’s going to start spitting fizz at you at any moment! It’s really sweet and tastes naturally sugary!
I really like this – Frank has done it AGAIN!!!
I know you never add anything to your teas (except matcha apparently LOL!) but you might want to try steeping this in just enough water that it steeps properly then add corbonated water. That’s close enough to “nothing” since it still is water lol.
I almost immediately ordered this tea when I saw LiberTEAS post a few days ago that it was available again on the website, I was so excited to try it!
I received the package (or what was left of the package) thanks to the postal service UGGHH I was almost balistic when I got the mail and saw the package was ripped apart and held together by a rubber band!! FORTUNATELY there were no tea casualties and the tea pouches were intact!!! Now back to the soda review wait I mean tea!
The smell upon opening the package was incredible!!! I was, I must admit, skeptical about how you make a cherry cola tea! But 52 Teas is AMAZING!! This is a wonderful tea representation of cherry Cola! Sweet!!! Definitely an interesting tea! If you like Cherry cola you have to try this tea! I am giving this tea 100 for the accuracy and taste true to its name.
Yes I was very irritated! There was not even an apology or anything with the ripped package and I am not talking a little rip the whole end of the package was torn open and then a rubber band held that piece to the rest of the package! I can’t believe the tea was still intact and inside the package!
Wow, this is just the most unusual tea ever! It really does remind me of cherry cola- and the smell is pure ‘cherry cola gum’ (ever had that before? I know lots of sweets come in this flavor and I imagine the same flavoring is used to make this tea). Anyway, it’s totally unexpected in a tea. As honeybush has the same reputed health benefits that rooibos does (antioxidants, calming, rumored even to help with allergies and tummy woog- google it!) this is a nice alternative to soda- caffeine free, too. I think I really do like it! I say ‘I think’ because I’m still getting used to it. :) I too feel as though I can detect a fizziness to it, and I usually don’t succumb to the placebo effect- maybe it’s not a placebo effect!
Such an interesting tea, that I got to try thanks to Kristin. I’m going to cherish the rest of this sample and then order my own.
p.s. my electric kettle pooped out on me mid-dorm life in the language camp! So I nabbed Adagio’s utilitea kettle and I am loving it. I can apparently send anyone a coupon for it so PM me if you’re interested.
The scent is definitely Cherry Coke!! I can even smell the fizziness! Amazing.
The taste is fizzy cherry cola. This is one of those rare teas where the aroma matches the flavor.
I’m not a huge, huge fan of cherry cola but I can’t deny that this is delicious and refreshing.
And I love honeybush. I find it so calming to drink. I’m a nervous person by nature but honeybush never fails to calm me down, somehow.
I’m really liking this flavor. It’s totally true to its name. And it’s yummy and soothing warm in a tea like this.
Ok, back on the honeybush horse.
I admit the way I cam about this one was pure and utter cheek. I was pining after I found the review of the Cherry Cola Back Tea. I mean, OMG really. Studies have already concluded that my intravascular fluid (previously referred to as blood) is composed of a special 50% tea/50% cherry coke combination. Its also be deteremined that maintaining this balance is crucial for continued life as I know it.
So, the NEED for this tea is obvious. I admit I failed to float the root beer experience, so I was a little bit scared. But here I am on holiday, kettle in one hand, tea-ball in the other. It is time.
OMGosh. How do you make tea smell so cherry, so coke-y and tingle my nose like it wants to bubble right there in the pack? Its magic, I tell you!!
But the magic didn’t end with the hot dash of water. Its hot cherry coke! (and maybe someone might have added milk like the ‘black and tan gelding’ fiend I am). Its like cherry melty float. heart
Magic. Love. Wow.
(tho I still wonder what the black tea would do for this ;)).
I think I need this one. I too prefer Cherry Coke if I happen to drink pop.
This is really good. I had my youngest daughter try it too, she really liked it also, although she did say that it didn’t really taste like cherry coke to her, it tasted like cherries and honey.
That’s good too. :-)
sounds great! glad to hear it lives up to the name.
You beat me to it. I’m hoping mine is at the Post Office and will come home with my husband Mike this evening!
I will have to try this at some point! :) You and Kristin have me sold!
You’ll try it the next time I send you a box. LOL!
YAY!!!!
:)
Woooot!
@LiberTeas Ha, you are so nice. The 52teas bags look small to me and I have a hard time parting with any of the ones that I truly love. shifty eyes
Kristen: yes, but, even though I love these teas, I have so much tea that the truth is that there really is no way that I can consume all that I have all by myself before they’d expire. So, why not share a little with a friend? :)
