316 Tasting Notes
I was so excited to finally try this long discontinued tea! Made a cup this evening, and it tastes pretty good. Very much an oolong. It reminds me of another fave from DT ‘Pineapple Oolong’. The banana in this tea is quite subtle, but it’s there. I think it would be different if I bought this tea when it was fresh. I’ve heard fruit can dry out quickly in some teas. Overall though, this wasn’t bad. I like it.
Flavors: Flowers
I finally acquired this tea from someone on a tea group I’m in, and tried it tonight. I really like this tea, it has an earthy, dark chocolaty taste to it, with hints of hazelnut.
One thing I don’t understand about this tea is there are two different ingredient lists for it. The one I have has no licorice, but yet on another list there is. I’m wondering if it was ‘changed’ like some of the other DT teas I’ve noticed. Cause there’s definitely no licorice in the blend I tried. Not that I’m even a big fan of it anyway… But this tea is really yummy, and a great chocolate tea!
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Earth, Hazelnut
Preparation
This is a great tea whether hot, or iced. I really love honeydew/melon teas. This particular tea has a good honeydew flavour, It has somewhat of a bitter taste to it, but I just add a little agave or sugar to it. I’m not much into white teas, but this was a fave. I’m sad it’s being discontinued.
Flavors: Bitter, Bitter Melon, Floral, Honeydew
Preparation
At first smell, I didn’t like it at all. I didn’t think it would be a tea I would like. But since it was the first day in my advent calendar, I decided to give it a try. I was surprised that I actually didn’t mind it. It tastes sweet, cinnamony, and it has a bright red colour to it. It’s not a favourite, but it was okay.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Fruity, Nutty
