Day #20 is not a tasting note for day #20 because I needed to have a second steep of this the next night. I almost bought three ounces of this because the blend sounded very unique and delicious but I decided to settle for the amount in the Advent calendar. The ingredients: rooibos, honeybush, buckwheat, maple sugar, almond flour, cinnamon, flavors, nutmeg, sliced almonds, coconut, soy pieces, marshmallow pieces, stevia, turmeric. I just love so many many of these ingredients here and was expecting a spectacular cup. However, I’d say I’m just getting SWEETNESS from this cup, probably because of so many sweet ingredients. And with so many sweet ingredients, did the stevia really have to make an appearance? I wish I could actually taste things like the almond flavor and nutmeg and maple and marshmallow…. not to mention the bourbon flavor that I can taste more of in Sue’s Blend. Of course, there is enough here to try this blend a few times, so we shall see.
Steep #1 // 1 1/2 teaspoons for a full mug// few minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 5+ minute steep

This sounds like it’d be a really good and interesting blend minus the stevia—so gross. I like that they included buckwheat, though!

Yeah, the stevia shouldn’t be there with all that sweet stuff.
But also, my teaspoons could have just had a higher amount of stevia than usual.
