38 Tasting Notes
A simple, refreshing, comforting tisane. They say rooibos is good for allergies. Not sure how much of that is hype and how much is prove, but it’s worth a shot. More cinnamony than fruity or floral; I can barely taste the roses, actually. Still lovely, though.
Preparation
Had some this morning. I received it as a gift, and since I’m not terribly crazy about it, I’m really only drinking it to free up some space in the cupboard. It’s alright, but it really doesn’t compare to loose leaf tea. Like others have said, it tastes more like a fruity herbal infusion than black tea with fruit. I wouldn’t discount this line entirely, though; Lipton’s Island Mango and Peach white tea is much better quality.
Preparation
I much prefer classic Constant Comment with black tea, but I didn’t want to drink black tea, lest it exacerbate my already awful insomnia. Even though it’s not exactly the Constant Comment of my childhood, it’s still comforting and soothes my dry mouth and upset stomach.
Preparation
Picked this up from Whole Foods. The kind I purchased is loose leaf, not bagged. It’s probably the best green tea I’ve ever had. I just love the floral flavor; it isn’t overpowering at all. It’s also looks beautiful while steeping.
Preparation
Blended this with some loose leaf “black tea from India” (which I love, but haven’t posted about it on here because I don’t know the brand name; a friend gave it to me in a tea swap). Put in half a teaspoon of peppermint and 3/4 a teaspoon of black tea. It’s delicous, but I can’t taste the black tea as well as I tasted the peppermint. Maybe I’ll add more black tea to the blend next time and see how that works.
Preparation
Had a cup of this in the afternoon after the Easter Sunday service. It tasted great, but didn’t help me with the dry mouth I’ve experiencing since I started a new medication. If anything, my mouth was even more uncomfortable afterwards. At least the honey soothed my throat.
