drank Butter Tart by LuxBerry Tea
1237 tasting notes

Cumin in tea is weird. This tea is… odd. Not gonna lie. I do not think of butter tart I think more of a main dish then a tart. It’s a bit spicy. Not like chai but …I don’t know know how to explain it. Nice earthy base mixes well with this tea. I won’t rate this one since it’s not bad but I just am not a fan.

Sounds intriguing.

The lavender in this tea has made me sleepy. I should really go workout but thanks to the smooth taste and soothing aroma of this tea I just want to fall asleep. But I can’t. There is a lil one that would eat plants if I did. But seriously. They did this one right. If you want a more intense lavender flavor just steep it a lil longer. But not too long or it will get bitter.

drank Spring Pouchong by Cornelia Bean

Really on a roll now…. yet another tea that I oversteeped. _ I blame my contacts. Something is weird so I am going in today. My first sip wasn’t that great but my second one was nomnom. Creamy, grassy goodness. Some slight vegetal notes, oo now here comes the floral and the orchid too. Lovely. My favorite part of this tea though is the smell of the wet leaves. Reminds me of the smell when you walk off the plane into the terminal in Lihue…

I’m not getting many tropicals tasting notes but I am tasting a lot of honey. I almost can’t even taste the green base.

Thank you Inkling for this sample! I’m learning much! Well drat. The water wasn’t nearly as warm as I thought it was, more like luke-warm. As I dive more into the world of oolong I am finding it interesting that oolongs can be like green or black and sometimes something completely unique like milk oolong. This one is definitely closer to the black side. A darker brown color. Earthy and woodsy notes. I’m not going to rate this simply because I’m not a huge fan of plain black tea, which this reminds me of.

Have any of you read Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango) I’m re-reading it right now. Good stuff.

I think that was the first Shoujo manga I ever read. Definitely a classic! Do you read Skip Beat? That’s my current favorite.

Skysamurai

Yes! I wish they would update faster! Though… I guess I would rather have a better story then faster chapters haha.

I agree. The current arc definitely has me hooked. I’m so curious about her mom!

I’ve been very forgetful about my tea while it’s steeping. Sometimes it’s because of a poopy diaper and other times it’s because it took longer for me to get to the end of a chapter then I expected. Needless to say I did it with this one. Think this had about 7 mins of steeping time. Luckily it’s not bitter… just more spicy. Which I don’t entirely mind. I like spicy chai. Though I’m not getting many hints of vanilla too be honest. It’s there just very subtle.

Let me try some Almond milk.

Ooo not bad! It maintains the spiciness of the chai but adds a nice flavor and kinda brings out the vanilla a bit more!

I… uh…. I’m not tasting Lychee or Jasmine. Just lots of vegetal notes. Maybe hints here and there but I feel like I’m imagining them.

drank Oolong Peach by Two Guys' Tea
1237 tasting notes

If you like the flavor of peach you need to try this. The peach is a total overwhemler. Oolong? Not so much. It’s there, very subtly. This oolong reminds me more of a black tea because of it’s earthyness. There is also a slight bitterness that I’m not too fond of.

Hazelnuts are my favorite nut so I had to try this. I dumped a lil too much in so I just equalled that out with water. Of course I completely forgot I was steeping it. Good thing it doesn’t matter for honeybush. Pretty surreit was at least 15 mins of steeping. But it ended up being a good thing. It intensified the hazelnut flavor immensely. Kinda makes me think of Frangelico. Nomnom.

Helichrysum. What a weird ingredient. And yet it does give that nice melon flavor that you wouldn’t expect. Thatbk you Inkling for this sample! The leaves are indeed beautiful. Everything about this tea kinda makes me have visions of a princess sitting in a garden on a warm spring day. I honestly think this should be labeled Melons and cream or Melon bowl because I taste both cantaloupe and honeydew. While it is good warm I find that I am enjoying it much more cold. This is going to come in a close second to Golden Honeydew by Lupicia.
