286 Tasting Notes
Oh My Goodness!! This is a tasty treat to start my day. Rich, sweet flavours. A hint of tobacco. Some grain. Perfect, because I’m too lazy to make breakfast right now, so this will do until I can get my lazy self off the couch.
Thanks Dexter!! This is sooooo goooood.
I have ben wanting to try this tea for a long time, only because I thought it looked really interesting. Dexter3657 must have intuited this, since I was sent this in a generous box.
I didn’t look at the site or previous written notes on this one, so I didn’t know what to expect. The liquor brewed to a deep gold colour, and the aroma reminded me a little bit of a barn….straw/hay aroma. Oh oh. I tentatively took a sip, and was surprised at the mildness of this tea. It was sweet and a little hay-like in flavour, but I didn’t find that off-putting. It was really good, actually.
I just finished a second cup of this, and it was sweeter than the last. Some fruit notes came through, and it was quite nectar-like with the mouth-feel and sweetness.
This was a tasty surprise. Thank you Dexter!
Awesome!!! Really happy that you liked this. I wasn’t sure about including it in your package. I thought it was more “novelty” than “good tea” and I hadn’t tried it….will have to move it up the list. :))
This is great tea to start the day. Delicious, smooth, sweet, some malt.
My first cup had hints of fruit in the background, with a lighter profile. Second steep of these beautiful leaves…ahhh…rich, sweet, and so tasty. BF commented on how good it smells-he doesn’t drink tea.
Many thanks to Dexter3657 for sending this my way!
More snow (sigh).
I decided to brew up a trusted favourite. I think I must always keep a coconut oolong in my cupboard. I haven’t tried one that I dislike, although I do prefer some over others. This is one of those that I like a little more.
Infusion is bright yellow. Upfront taste is toasty coconut. As the cup cools, butter and a touch of salt lingers.
The second infusion doesn’t offer much, but the toasted coconut still makes its presence known.
London tea room carries a tasty coconut oolong. I used to have it in my cupboard, now I want a cup :)
Might want to send me a reminder in a week or so (after I’ve had a chance to got it). I can be a bit of an airhead, LOL.
My first tea of the day, and what a great way to start! I didn’t care for it very much the first time I tried it, and so I put it aside. Something changed.
This is just oh so good. My first cup…sweet potato. I am on cup #2, and this is even better than the first. For a few sips I got honey candy. Sweet potato notes after, and now butter.
I accidentally had ordered an extra ounce a little while back, not realizing I already had it. Now I’m glad I did.
I love this. I don’t bring tea in this, ‘cos I don’t want aroma’s or flavours mixed together. So I boil some H20 to bring to work in it and infuse the flavour/tea of the day in a different cup. I refill the canteen with H20 when needed.
I love the simple, clean lines of the design. But even more, I love how it keeps H20 hot. One of my best buys.
i love this one, i just wish it had an infuser in it! it keeps the tea superhot like a timolino, and is so much bigger than the timolino, but i’m not a huge fan of using tea filter bags.
I’m not a fan of filter bags either. I just use this to transport or keep water hot. No tea due to fear of cross-contamination.
This is a great morning tea. Thanks to Dexter3657 for sending me a sample.
I opened the sample bag and I got a waft of the smokiness. I thought from the dry leaf that the smoke would be really strong. I was delighted that while the smoke was evident in the sips, it wasn’t overbearing. I do like smoky tea’s but sometimes it’s too much. I didn’t add any sweeteners, and it was delicious.
