Thanks to “Bonnie” for this sample… (And Many Others ;-))

This tea was good, pleasant and well blended, but too fruity for my taste! I like to taste the “Tea” for all of it’s intricacies!!

Sorry, this is a favorite of some steepsters for desert. Never know what people will like which is why I sent it to you with all the other samples. Keep it to give away!

No need to be sorry ;) I HIGHLY appreciate the samples you have sent me and will drink every last one of them to give them a “fair shake” !! ;) You told me to be true to myself when writing reviews and have fun…it’s hard but I’m trying ;) The tea is not bad in any sense of the word..it’s just good for my taste ;) (not a fan of overly fruity blends) Since it is a “Pu-erh” tea..how many steeps can I make with it ??(i’m on steep #4 right now and it’s holding up pretty well..much more mellowed strawberry/fruity taste..ahhh much better)

Bonnie

Keep it up!!! I agree with what you said! The flavored ones only 2 probably since they’re filled with chocolate and other stuff. Never know though. With the natural flavors like Verdant’s Alchemy blends you can do several steepings. I recommended that you to play with the tea…so go for it! Samples are for play!

Thank you “Bonnie” For this Tea Sample! (And MANY others ;-))

While I don’t have much experience with Black Teas.! They also have not been my favorite among the varied, green, white’s and Oolongs which I prefer ;) This is the first time I am trying “Verdant” teas (Thanks to Bonnie) and I have to say that it is a very high quality tea!

I brewed My tea in a “Forlife” Curve Teamug http://www.forlifedesign.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12_5&products_id=36 at 195 F for 3 minutes and only using Stevia (Stevia Clear) for a sweetener! After steeping I noticed that the wet leaves had a bright fresh ginger/cardamom smell with a light woodsy -smokey afternote.

The taste of the tea (for a newbie like me) is kinda hard to describe!! It had a VERY WELL BALANCED (Chai’s are usually very heavily spiced from what I remember) Smokey-black tea flavor with hints of warm ginger /cardamom and a chocolatey aroma. Finishing off the palate with a buttery smooth mouth feel. It was still flavorful after it’s 2nd steeping and if this is the quality of “Verdant” teas…I’m definitely SOLD!!!

Very yummy sounding tea!
I also like the mug.
I have a ForLife Curve Teapot that I just adore.

Bonnie

So glad you enjoyed the Chai! I always go to the website for brewing instructions and tasting notes about alchemy blend ingredients. Nice review!

Anyone have some loose leaf tea recommendations that are as yummy and effective as this tea??? A perfect accompaniment to any meal, works amazingly well for indigestion and nausea ;-)

Preparation
Boiling 8 min or more
Bonnie

Mint tea, Chamomile tea, Pu-erh is good for the stomach.

Daisy Chubb

I swear by shu puerh to settle my tummy after big meals! Haven’t tried it with nausea yet, but I’ll definitely think of it next time I’m under the weather! :)

Bonnie

I found that what was giving me trouble for years was a food allergy. Worth checking out. I am allergic to beans so can’t drink rooibos or honeybush tea. Allergic to potato and nightshade family foods. Pay attention to what you eat that upsets your stomach and make notes. Keep track. Then look online. You could have a common allergy. Or see your Doctor and ask.

Hesper June

Mountain Rose Herbs has a loose herbal tea called Happy Tummy Blend, that has a ingredient list similar to this tea.
Also, fairly cost effective at 6.85 for 4 ounces.

Where can I get some good “shu Pu-erh’s”? I never had any pu-erh’s before..what are they like/similar to? Do they have alot of caffeine? I am definitely going to look up Happy tummy from mountain rose herbs… I have alot of their essential oils (aromatherapy) and they are of very high quality ;) Thank you all for the suggestions..keep em’ coming ;)

Silver Yin Zhen Pearls / Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls (Teavana)

Very Smooth combination with very subtle hints of Jasmine on the finish in the 1st infusion. Second infusion is still very smooth, dry/astringent taste on the finish. Silver Yin Pearls are very light for my taste, I guess my palate will become more refined as I drink more varieties of teas?
I enjoy drinking my teas..they are my little meditations throughout the day ;-))

You are right about that. Private gems that are an oasis for a moment or so. I tried some pearls and went eh. Then I steeped them a bit longer then recommended and liked it better. You could try that.
