I had to get this tea when I saw the tin. I actually ended up with Chai Town too, and both are such gorgeous tins I feel like I’ll have to nab the last in the Chicago series.
For $9 you get 4 oz of tea and a gorgeous tin, so this tea could taste terrible and it wouldn’t be money wasted to me because of the tin.
But the tea is pretty good. I wouldn’t have ever combined jasmine and mint ever.
I think my grandpa would really appreciate everything this tea stands for. It’s a bummer I didn’t get it until today because of Adagio sending me the other one instead, but it definitely reminds me of him and I definitely need to show him the tin. He has a massive collection of music, mostly on cassette tapes, and he has it all logged probably better than I have my tea logged. Speaking of which, I think for my business writing class, I could find a way to make a pdf document to organize my tea, though it might be more in a career interest to write reports, but I really would like something better than an Excel file if I can learn. And I think it could be useful if I ever owned a tea shop…
I think this tea would accurately describe a jazz club in a cup. It’s smooth, a little smoky, and it gives you just the right kick.
The combination of jasmine and mint really is not bad at all. I thought I was actually going to hate this. Neither one overpowers the other, so it’s not like chewing on jasmine petals, or chewing on some mint leaves. The gunpowder has a smoky note that mixes in with the mint. This goes down way too easily, though I’ve been pretty thirsty. But normally I do not find myself able to drink anything with mint this quickly.
The next step will be to try this cold, since it has all the elements and then some of a mint green.
Definitely check this out if you want something different in a gorgeous package. $2.25 an ounce including the tin is unbelievably good.
Oh and speaking of my grandpa, he said he is ready to get a dog now. I think finally letting everyone know about Lacey’s passing has helped. I know it probably still hurts but he’s all alone in that house. There’s a corgi rescue here that has an 8 year old and I told my mom to look into him, I just hope they will let someone 120 miles away adopt him!

Kudos to your grandpa! When you live alone, a pet becomes so much more than that, I can understand why he wanted to wait. And kudos to you guys for going to a rescue dog’, hope it’s going to work out :-)

Thanks for the post. I’m glad you liked the tin; I had a lot of fun designing it.
