95 Tasting Notes
I may have overleafed this with my suprsuffphistikated way of measuring this morning (open the bag and give it an optimistic shake), but it tastes nice. Vegetal, little bit roasty/nutty, with a bit of sweetness. Very slight drying at the end of the sip.
Preparation
Got this as a sample in my last order. Not bad, not especially memorable. It’s definitely a more vegetal green, lots of spinachy green notes without being roasty or buttery to me. Maybe a bit of a grassy taste too.
I’m more of a nutty, Dragonwell drinker so this isn’t a keeper for me, but it was nice to sip on this morning.
Preparation
Interesting tea. Banana is the dominant note, but to me that was in a good way. It didn’t have a very artificial taste to it, and though it was dominant it wasn’t overpowering. Didn’t get a big chocolate kick, but it was a pleasant black tea with lacing of banana.
Had with cream and a little rock sugar.
A little disappointed with this one. It smells amazing, in fact, like a cookie, but because it smells so good the taste was a bit of a let down. It’s not that it tastes bad, it just doesn’t compare to the scent. More or less just a black tea-y tasting tea to me with a bit of cream added. Sometimes I add a few crystals of rock sugar. I actually get more of a caramel taste as the cup cools, but I don’t like lukewarm black tea.
Preparation
I have some of this on the way, I was a little skeptical about it but curiosity got the best of me!
I know what you mean about the let down part, to me, that’s what happens most of the time with flavoured tea. Just drank their Melon Oolong though, that one is spot on!
Sipdown. Nice white tea, sweet, floral, hay notes…retains a nice taste even when lukewarm. Doesn’t go astringent on me. Between this and the Glenburn Silver Needle I’m not sure which I’d rather as they’re both nice, but I’ll probably stock this again in the future.
Not really getting a toffee or anything other for that matter taste aside from creamy matcha. That’s not a bad taste, but since it’s supposed to be flavored it gets a reduced rating.
It smells similar to the caramel sample I received in my first order, so I was excited to get some of that smell translated into taste but it didn’t happen. This is the April sample so I’m guessing it’s basic grade matcha and delicate flavoring. May need to boost up the flavoring if I were to order it.
2 chasaku scoops dissolved in 175F water, then added 8oz heated light soy milk.
Had it as a cold latte, about two and a half chasaku scoops dissolved in 175F water, added 10oz cold light soy milk, shook like crazy. I don’t hate the end result, but unlike the raspberry where the fruityness went up, the cheesecakeyness went down. Think I’ll stick to this one as a warm latte and try the fruity flavors as cold.
2.5 chasaku scoops dissolved in 175F water, added 8oz light soy milk heated in my Breville milk frother. I’m really liking the plain soy milk, and it’s about half the calories of rice milk so that means I can have double the lattes…theoretically anyway.
Smells very figgy, thankfully doesn’t taste quite as figgy as it smells since it’s VERY figgy smelling. Tastes great; sweet, creamy, figgy, and has the matcha taste at the end of the sip to round it out.
