227 Tasting Notes
Chuck Norris once swam to the Virgin Islands. Today they’re known as the Island.
Sooo i got 3 new teas today and 3 more got stuck on the customs office but should get them soonish. They don’t like it when a box doesn’t have an invoice in it ;) I even totally forgot about that purchase. Oh well expand my dear shelves, make more room…
OK so i kinda assume that these teabags should be similar to Peach Oolong tea by Adagio – but i still added this one as a new one. It’s teabags after all, and who knows maybe its not exactly same… They are totally sealed in the little packages. Mmmm it smells nice when i open it. Very peachy.
So let’s see…
Ohhh lot of tea in the teabag. I almost never steep that much tea. Maybe i should change my habits. Says i should steep it for 5 minutes. That’s also longer than i normally steep my oolongs (more like 3 minutes).
Tea is orange. Nice peachy color.
Guess what it smells like? Yep yep peachy. I must admit i’m getting all peachy here myself…
Tastes of course peachy but oolong is almost stronger. So it’s a good oolong with sweet peachy aftertaste. Can’t judge yet on quality of oolongs. But this is quite yummy. Somewhere in between ’i’d buy it again’ and ‘gimme more’. Shall see soon how it behaves on new steeps…
I messed up second steep, first water got too mild, then i forgot it’s steeping. Anyways i still think this is a one steep great tea. Its still ok and very much drinkable but it’s not as yummy…
Preparation
Chuck Norris once got in a knife fight. The knife lost.
Smells kinda like the Dragon Well one did yesterday. Its bit more colored tho. Yellow to slightly greenish.
I’m expecting it to taste similar too cuz it looks very much alike with the only difference that this one has more stems and less leaves.
I was right. I like it maybe even bit more than Dragon Well. It’s the same taste with less sweetness. Very smooth and round taste. There is a hint of fresh grass in the taste. I like it. I really do.
Oh and yay i’m finally drinking some real teas!
Preparation
Chuck Norris can set ants on fire with a magnifying glass. At night.
OK honestly i’m totally jealous of Rabs’s (how do you write that?!) Shakespeare intros. So i’m gonna, from now on, start in my own way ;) Nerdy way of course…
I couldn’t resist eating 2 day old lasagne’s yesterday so I got another bad tummy day today. It’s totally worth it tho :D Hence oolong to start the day…
It tastes as always – quite neutral and very drinkable. Idk honestly what to say about oolong. So far the 2 I’ve tried taste always same. Which i like when i’m in the mood for it…
Preparation
LoL OK 3 new teas (tea bags to be precise) again. This time they came as a gift from a cousin who lives in Germany. There comes something good out of annoying people with tea stories after all ;) For me at least. I’m seriously starting to be overcrowded with tea. Weird feeling.

Ya and i got 3 packages on the post office: one is Adagio teas, one should be an awesome t shirt. No idea what the third one is…
Back to the tea.
Leaves smell like fresh cut grass or something. Very nice real smell.
Color is yellow. Tea itself smells very herbal but different than dry leaves. Cant remember what it reminds me of.
Leaves are even bigger than white one from this morning. Quite bigger:

Hmmm is that weird smell jasmine? Would be easier to tell if i spoke German better :D It’s a very specific herbal taste, quite strong, and really not bad. Weird for me tho.
I Googled an english description:
China Lung Ching – Widely known as “Dragon Well,” Lung Ching is one of China’s “Ten Famous Teas” eagerly awaited each March and April. Meticulously plucked, withered and pan-fired to perfection, this premium grade tea is a masterful achievement of the balance between bitter and sweet. A sunshine yellow infusion presents contrast. Roasted chestnut resounds and bitter green undertones give way to a softer, sweeter hint of vanilla.
I’m getting the softness. Wouldn’t call it vanilla but ya i get what they meant. And it really is sweet. Quite.
So basically i like it but still find it weird. Or my taste buds do. They will get used to it soon. They always do. I can see this becoming one of those teas that give me cravings…

Fishie teacups are there just for Rabs ;)
Preparation
ROFL! I clicked on the first pic and squeeled “fishie teacups!” The other pic I just smiled, and then I read your little note and laughed :D I came close to purchasing a gaiwan that has fishies on it, but I couldn’t tell if they were in the bottom of the cup so I passed it over (plus the fishies weren’t as cute as yours). Those cups just make me happy :)
@amayonv they said it in the dragonwell description. I wouldnt call it vanilla lol
@rabs i’ll gladly include the cups on most of my pics. it just takes them to another place right? if u want the link to my fishie cups i’ll post it later. i’m in the bus now lol
http://bit.ly/baOOuT there you go. it’s an ebay store and everything for me went smooth. they packed it well and it arrived like 3-4 weeks after ordering. b4 ordering i asked them what if they break in transport and they said they send new ones. so well good feedback from me. and you know how much i love them. they cost but i don’t regret at all ;) (i was trying to resist not buying them but didn’t manage lol, i took the first occasion to gift myself – that was my name-day)
That’s awesome! I need to wait for my mid-month paycheck, but they’re sooo gonna be mine mwhahahahaaaa! But I will still love seeing them in your photos. :) I’m also really glad to know that you had a good experience with that store. They have a few gaiwans I was eyeballing but hadn’t heard anything about them as a company on Steepster or the like. Thank you so very much! :D
OK, smell of the leaves i dint like too much, seems quite intense…
I’m starting with short steep (2 minutes).
Color is light. Slightly yellow/green-ish. I can barely feel the smell of the actual tea. Kinda surprising after smelling the intense leaves.
Ohhhh mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Delicate. Wow. I’m quite impressed. It’s so subtle, gentle, and yummy. Can taste both white tea and melon. In right combo. Pai Mu Tan makes it smooth and what i call nutty (like gently greasy like sunflower or pumpkin seeds) but idk, gotta figure out what word you use for it lol. I like it when flavored teas don’t totally overtake the original tea in them. Melon is well melony :D You know kinda sweetish, refreshing. They go very well together…
Oh the leaves of this tea are big compring to the ones I’ve had before. Love that…

EDIT
I noticed again on the first steep that colder the tea gets flavors get stronger. Thats obviously Ronnefeldt’s “thing”. With Bourbon Vanilla i liked colder better for stronger vanilla bourbon flavor. Here i kinda prefered hot tea with stronger PaiMuTan scent.
2nd steep 2,5 minutes, slightly colder water
Bit darker, tastes like the first steep.
3rd steep
Got cold and I like it. Very refreshing. Maybe i just found my summer drink. Well that and my Melon margarita :D Not even yummy teas will make me give up that treat…
Preparation
Sounds delicious! And I can’t wait for you to try some loose leaf oolong. Many of those have giant leaves, and yet they start out so tiny :)
I got tea delivery today :D Three packs of new teas – and none of them rated on Steepster yet. Funny thing – I ordered them like a month ago from an UK online teashop (http://www.cupoftea.uk.com) and i got 3 bags of German loose tea. Oh well in the end they all come from Asia anyways ;)
I’m keeping the Assam one with Irish whiskey taste in reserve cuz i got a very similar one opened. But the other two bags are gonna get opened. Maybe even both tonight.
Bourbon Vanilla does sound kinda yumm right? OK lets go…
Smell of vanilla isn’t very strong. Quite delicate even. I think that might be a good thing. Yep its a delicate black. Not malty, not too strong. I’m guessing that’s how Indian blacks are. More watery but still quite good. In a different way. Whole other flavor. I might be getting a hint of bourbon. Vanilla not much. It’s actually slightly bitter. I’ll try steeping it bit shorter next time. Might bring out vanilla and bourbon more. It’s an OK tea. Not bad at all but not sure i’d get more…
EDIT So yes turns out that the tea is quite better and not bitter at all if i steep it for like 3 minutes instead of 4
EDIT no2 as it gets colder it’s totally getting better. bourbon vanilla is starting to show. and i keep lifting the rating up ;)
Preparation
Tea deliveries are always such a day-brightener :D I also get a small thrill out of adding a tea to Steepster. It’s like I’m boldly going where no one on Steepster has gone before ;)
Ending my silver needle weekend with something different. Gonna drink it with a cup of milk and brown sugar.
Yay just saw i won a matcha tin on a contest on Facebook. My first tea prize ever :D It’s really a lucky year for me so far…
Even the chai is yummy this time. Ohhh life is good…
Preparation
Fourth steep now. And its after midnight. I’m even thinking i might try steeping it in the morning :D
I almost feel sorry for this tea. Hope it won’t feel over-used lol…
