Brought this and my tea-ware to school with me today. This is such a nice oolong. It’s my standard go to tea, especially when I’m working.

I brewed three small pots of this between last night and this morning. The two pots I had last night were perfect. The flavor was light, and the grassiness had a sweet touch to it. The floral flavor was just right too, just enough to add to the overall flavor, but the tea didn’t taste overwhelmingly like flowers. This morning, all floral notes are gone, and the flavor of the tea is very flat. It’s more vegetal than sweet and grassy. I think this is mostly because of how I steeped the leaves. I put the leaves directly into the pot, so they probably steeped out sooner. I like watching the leaves unfold, so I really don’t want to use a filter basket, but maybe next time I’ll use a couple cups and pour out all the liquid between steepings. Overall, this was a huge improvement to steeping in my cast iron pot, which I think adds a bit of an edge to the lighter teas.

I’ve been drinking a lot of oolong lately. I brewed this one in a glass teapot I just got, to see if it changed the flavor from brewing it in my cast iron teapot (sadly I don’t own any yixing pots). It’s really hard to say, I’ll have to brew them side by side to get a real idea for the difference. It’s a bit more…..earthy and heavy than other oolongs I have, but quite tasty all the same.

Ok, re-steeping this brings an entirely new flavor. First of all, I got the chance to go on Canton’s site to look at their information about this tea. On their suggestion, I added a few more leaves to my pot and used shorter steep times. The result is a much lighter flavor than the one I had yesterday. It is hard to say if this is from the change in steeping or the fact that it is the second steeping for these leaves (or most of them anyway). I have very much enjoyed my experience with this tea, and look forward to more experimenting!

This is my first time trying this tea. Sadly I’m in a rush this morning and don’t really have time to put down all my thoughts, but I will say it’s certainly different from anything I’ve had before. I will definitely be brewing this again so I can take in more of the flavor.

I’m not really a huge fan of black teas, but all things said, this one is pretty good. When I first steeped it, the smell was rather smokey. There’s a bit of that smokiness in the taste, but otherwise it tastes like a typical black tea to me. I’ve actually rather enjoyed drinking this for my morning tea today.

My first introduction to rooibos tea was with Rishi’s macadamia rooibos, and I absolutely fell in love. Rooibos is by far my favorite type of tea in general, so I was really excited to try this. I’ve had two or three cups so far, and I absolutely love it.

Drank this all day today. Sitting in my Aunt’s cold mountain cabin, it was a very nice way to keep warm. Steeped the same leaves 3 times, and could probably steep them again. Such a merry Christmas.

I’ve hesitated to brew this, because my previous means of heating water was a standing water dispenser with only one heat setting. I got a new electric kettle for Christmas, and this was the first thing I brewed. I love white teas, but I haven’t had one in a while, because it’s so easy to scorch the leaves. I love the smell and taste of this tea. Slightly sweet and fruity with the light taste of white tea.
