34 Tasting Notes
I’m amazed at how much of this I have. It goes so far! I only got a sample of it from Adagio, but this is the fourth time I’ve had it (and it’s an all day tea, with all of the infusions you get out of it), and there’s plenty left.
Beyond that, I’m liking it more and more all of the time. It’s a very full flavor, and the more I perfect the brewing of it, the better it gets.
This was the first one I’d had, but I’ve since tried a few others. I found that this one was much less floral, but the other flavors really make it more full in general. There is more nutty taste, and a bit more of an iron undercurrent. I haven’t noticed the aftertaste a few others have, though. In general, it’s what I like out of an oolong. Others I’ve had were a little too green for me. At least, for the mood that makes me want oolong.
Thanks to KallieBoo! for this sample! The smell of the dry leaves was a bit strong. Almost made me regret asking for it. It was much milder once brewed. I tried it without sugar at first, and it was…meh. Tasted like black tea, with a sort of caramel suggestion. A bit of sugar really allowed the caramel to come out just the right amount, and a hint of the smooth citrus. Not the most impressive tea, but I did enjoy it all the same.
Preparation
This evening, I needed to detox myself and my apartment. Being sick for a week really puts you behind on house work. Which I was throwing away old food, cleaning dishes, putting up clothes, etc., it seemed fitting to keep a mug of this nearby. Seven or eight resteeps (who counts) really flushed a lot of gunk out of my system. The apartment looks better, I feel better. Can’t complain!
Thanks to darby for this sample! I waited until I had taken a few sips before I read the Steepster tasting notes on this. If I’d read them earlier, I’d have been a lot more anxious. This is a fantastic morning tea. It’s got a great balance of black tea and almond. It is bitter, like everyone says, but it’s a pleasant, smooth bitterness. I’m not even taking it with sugar. I think I’ll likely buy more of this!
Preparation
It was almost too cool to have the door open like I did last night, but it really enhanced the feeling of autumn. This is not a tea you can drink when it feels like summer, that’s for sure. It’s a strong tea, kind of like spiced caramel apples, but made properly. Not too much caramel, not enough that it makes you feel sick. I absolutely love this tea, and I see myself drinking it far too often this autumn.
