Lots of jasmine and apple in my first cup. I didn’t get much crème brulée flavour aside from sweetness. I added milk to the rest which made it nice and creamy, but still wasn’t giving me the eggy, custardy flavour I was hoping for. The brewing instructions on the bag were – Hot water (I used near-boiling), 3-5 minute steep (I did more like an 8 minute steep for a large 20oz mug).
Second steep is good too! I lowered the water temperature a bit and I think that helped. The green tea is more noticeable now but I do get a more creamy mouthfeel without milk and a hint of burnt sugar. I’ll have to try cooler water for the next try.
