drank Emperor's Puerh by Numi Organic Tea
19 tasting notes

As far as bagged teas go, Numi does tend to have better than most in their quality. This pu-erh tea (and its counter part: Ginger Pu-Erh) are relatively smooth and full bodied though I do typically have to steep them a bit longer than my other higher quality loose leaf pu-erh teas. However there is a highly beneficial aspect of them being portable. I tend to enjoy many pu-erh teas and while this one is definitely not the same caliber as my other pu-erh teas it is still enjoyable enough.

drank My Morning Mate by Teavana
19 tasting notes

Definitely one of my all time favorite teas from Teavana and in general.
This tea is the perfect morning coffee replacement. It’s full bodied and has a nice awakening aroma that smells strong but not bad. This tea is best with a small drop of agave as well, but can easily be enjoyed without any sweetener also. I used the last bit of mine, so I’m hoping I will be able to find this tea again which isn’t a guarantee since Teavana was bought out by Starbucks. I have yet to determine whether or not they are continuing to make this blend of tea.

I have a large tin of this blend of tea that I’ve had for a while. Thanks to the metal tin and top seal it’s stayed good for so long.
This is a strong tea that is mainly spices and goes good with a dash of cream or milk, however it can still be enjoyed without it. This being a spice tea, it’s very good for the winter and colder months. I made it hot and enjoyed it both by itself without nothing added, and with cream. I like it both ways, though I do slightly prefer it with just a dash of cream as it compliments the spices in my opinion.

drank Vanilla Comoro by Harney & Sons

This is a nice bold tea that I also believe is caffeine free (or comes in a caffeine free edition). So for those who love black tea but find themselves unable to drink it at night because they’ll be unable to sleep, this is a good remedy for that.

There are smooth notes of vanilla in this tea as well. It’s full bodied but also has a good aroma and a smooth flavor profile. I personally savor this tea because it does run a bit more on the expensive side around $5 or $6 per tin where I live. The metal tins they come in also help preserve the freshness of the tea, and although they come in tea bags the quality of the tea bags is a nice nylon mesh and allows you to see the tea leaves clearly (which is always nice).
Honestly just a big fan of this company and most of their teas I’ve been able to taste.

You easily taste more pomegranate than you do green tea however I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Green tea does tend to be bitter anyway, so this tea is nice in that you can get the caffeine and cleansing benefits of a bit of green tea, but mostly taste a fruit instead. This is a good midday tea to give a small bump in energy levels while working on a project or some other kind of work. Personally I can usually get two steeps out of one tea bag before moving onto a new one. I highly enjoy this tea and would probably restock my cabinet with it if I were to run out.

drank Ginger Peach by The Republic of Tea

This tea is able to curve some of the sharp ginger taste with the addition of a peach undertone. However the ginger still remains the center tasting point of this tea. I personally only make this tea hot as the cold temperature tends to make it a little more bitter.

Since it was a bit of a fruity tea I steeped it for 4 minutes to make sure the full flavor profile had a chance to steep before tasting it.

This is one of my favorite holiday teas. The spice is sometimes a bit over the top but it does have a very winter feel to it while drinking it. I tried to make a cold brew pitcher of this tea but it is better served hot. The fruit flavor comes through more when it is steeped in hot water. The spices are more pungent in the cold brew version of this tea.

drank African Solstice by Tea Forte
19 tasting notes

This was a so-so tea in my opinion. It wasn’t bad, but it lacked any distinguishing flavor profile to set it apart from other teas. That being said, if someone would just like some “hot tea” and nothing special in particular, this is a pretty basic staple tea to serve.

Overall it has an earthy tone with slight undertones of floral and fruit in the after taste. I find this is a fairly balanced and simple tea. I am not sure yet whether this is something I would repurchase, because Tea Forte is not very cheap, but the taste is smooth and it is full bodied for what it has.

drank Chamomile Citron by Tea Forte
19 tasting notes

This is a pretty decent tea. I got it as part of a 3 tin sampler pack since Tea Forte tends to have some pretty good blends. If you put just a pinch of honey in here this is some really good stuff. The citrus accents are pretty well balanced with the herbal chamomile and it leaves a nice tangy after taste as well, which sets it apart from the boring plain chamomile teas.
I’m drinking this right before I have to sleep so hopefully it works well enough for that.

This tea was somewhat enjoyable although I believe the flavor is a little too exotic for me. Mixing so many different flavors such as Peppermint and Lemongrass may seem good from a holistic medicinal standpoint, but flavor profile wise it is a bit of a hot mess. I would probably drink the last of this tea for sure since it shouldn’t be wasted, however this is not something I would end up wanting to purchase again. The scent is light and refreshing and the apple is somewhat detectable in taste, but is more present in fragrance. The peppermint and lemongrass overpower the rest of the tea’s potential flavors.
