218 Tasting Notes
Yes, its a backlogging afternoon, bare with me! I can’t believe I haven’t logged this. A morning staple in my house, its sweet and hits the spot on those mornings you just can’t wake up. I haven’t tried it myself, but the other half says its really good iced too. Don’t steep this one too long/forget about it and hope its ok after 10/15 mins, it has a bit of a weird effect on me after that long in the cup.
Preparation
I’ve had a few cups of this now, and its quite pleasant. Dry, it smells quite apply (though a different type of apple scent to what I’m used to. And I know my apples, my home state ain’t called the Apple Isle for no reason!). Steeped, there’s a lovely soft apple scent. Steeped, you can taste the base white with the apple being the prominent flavour. I found that using the recommended temperature for this can produce a bitter white, so I steep it a bit cooler, around 80oC. And coupled with a short-ish steep time, you can get two strongly flavoured cups or 3 softer flavoured infusions out of the leaves (using DT’s 1.5 teaspoons). Will have to try it iced before I finish the bag.
Preparation
Took this in the lid of my timolino to have as an afternoon tea as I knew it was going to be a long busy day. Made it at around 4, but forgot about it so I took it out of the thermos at 6 when I got home. Was obviously strong, but with some milk and agave, it was still tasty. Yummmm…..
What?! I haven’t logged this yet? How on earth did that happen! This is a standard at my house. The other half just loves it, and thankfully chips in his fair share of the 250g bags when I do orders. Its a really nice early grey, and the vanilla just sets it over the edge. The vanilla adds a lovely creaminess to the tea. Will be drinking cream of earl grey for years to come.
Preparation
This is a lovely breakfast tea (well I usually have it with breakfast!). Creamy and spicy, its nice and warming and uplifiting in the morning. I like it with a little sweetner (honey or agave, depending on the mood) and a dash of milk. Nicely balanced, its neither too spicy or too sweet. I usually give chais a solid steep (around 5 mins or a bit longer) to really bring out the flavour. Yummo!
Preparation
I felt much the same about this one as I did about pumpkin chai. A nice black, but the added flavours really weren’t strong enough. I got more orange than anything else, which is sad as I was hoping for a nice caramel flavour. Ended up gifting this to a friend I know likes it.
My first glass, and the first tea of my birthday! I got this yesterday with a birthday voucher (along with chocolate chai oolong and a sunny t glass. It smelled amazing dry in store, and this morning it smells amazing while brewing.
Oh, and it tastes really nice! The rose is sweet, without being overly flowery, and the black is a great base and isn’t bitter at all.ooh, this is actually really tasty! I really like it. Good birthday pick by me!
Thanks guys! I’m feeling like ere might be some oolong in my future today, but not su if I’ll go with DT’s milk oolong, prairie berry, or the new one I picked up from T2 yesterday, oolong chocolate chai. Suggestions?
And this is my new tea glass http://t2tea.com/teaware/tea-glasses/sunny/sunny-tglass-with-infuser-450ml-green/. A bit like the Perfect Mug from DavidsTea.
