16 Tasting Notes
The first time I had this tea, I was disappointed. It smelled so delicious, but I could barely taste anything, other than a light pleasant aftertaste. It wasn’t bad, but I like my flavours to be industrial strength. This time I used more tea and planned to let it steep a little bit longer than recommended to see if I could coax out more flavour. Unfortunately, I forgot about it for a while and now I have a super bitter tea, and it’s not even that flavourful still. I’m going to drink it out of principle, but I’m not enjoying it at all.
So, it turns out that my usual stir-really-quickly-with-a-fork method does NOT work for this matcha. I mean that method never worked fantastically, but there were SO many clumps. I really need to get actual matcha making gear. It tasted as good as can be expected. Kind of watery except for really strong when you got a clump. I’m not going to rate it, because I’m still pretty new to matcha and also I totally failed at preparing it.
I’m really enjoying this tea. I’m having it as a tea pop but I’ve had it hot and iced as well, and really enjoyed those too. I’m almost out and while I don’t plan on buying more right away, I’m sure there will be a time when this tea finds it’s way back into my collection. It is quite tart, but that doesn’t usually bother me. I’m really bad at picking out flavours, but I definitely get a strong orange from this tea.
I’m having this as a tea pop and I feel kind of ‘meh’ about it. It’s not that this is a bad tea at all, I just bought 250g of it and have been having it very often so I’m totally getting sick of it. I feel like once I try some new teas and leave this one alone for a while I’ll fall back in love with it. When I first tried it I was a bit blown away. For now I’m finding it a bit too sweet, and possibly having a bit of a weird stevia aftertaste. Only a bit, though.
I forgot I had this one! Thanks for reminding me. I like it, not my favorite as I like classic straight Chinese teas, but the pomegranate flavor is different.
Let my grandmother have some and she really enjoyed it. Looks like youll have a lot to come back to with 250g of it! I think it will suit you better in late winter early spring.
Yay! I got another sample packet of this and tried it with less water this time. It’s still very coconut-y but the pineapple came through more this time. I love it and will be ordering some.
It’s going to be annoying waiting until July 5th to place an order but that’s when i can redeem my free teas. I may accidentally place an order before then and then also when I can get free tea. I need to stop buying so much tea… I have a problem.
I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I did like it, but I wanted to love it. I just had one sample packet of it to make, and I really wish I had another. I want to try it again to figure out whether I want to buy it or not. Hmmm.
One thing about this tea that some people might be opposed to is that it was pretty murky. Like… it made the water more opaque than see through. That doesn’t bother me, but just a heads up, if this bothers you.
Make an iced tea latte with this one next time-it sure rocked my world and I did not like it too much just brewed with hot tea. I followed DavidsTea directions for an iced latte and added just a bit of agave nectar as a sweetener. It is my liquid dessert lol
When I first had this one I probably would have rated it 95-100. I’ve had it SO much since then, though and I’m a little less fond of it. I just need a lot of caffeine most days, and this seems to do the trick.
It’s definitely got a berry flavour, and I like it, but I think I might actually like it more if it were more tart? Not as tart as Queen of Tarts, but just slightly. Maybe I should try mixing the two. Anyway, I’m having it as a tea pop now, for the third time today, and I think I’ve over done it on the caffeine, so I’d better make this my last one for the day.
