It’s okay hot, so long as you don’t SMELL it.

This tea will forever be bitter sweet for me. I can see the bottom of the tin as my 11 year relationship comes to an end and I just want to cry sad tears into this tea. It just is not a happy week. I hope that one day soon I will be able to consider this tea a happy after work tea again, just not right now.

That being said it is probably the most soothing latte I have had all day. Side note I am out of milk and I want to cry over that, and I am sure I will find a few more things to cry about before the night is out.

nomadinjeopardy

I’m so sorry to hear about your week! I hope you can find some solace in tea and other soothing things. I find scents especially can be so strongly tied to emotion that it’s not surprising this will take on the connection for you.

MaddHatter

It’s rough, 31 and waking up crying each day? I suddenly think that I might actually appreciate the novel: Eat, Love, Pray now…

teataku

Yikes, that’s… beyond devastating. I’m so sorry. If I had any advice to offer you, it would be just to not give up on yourself. You’ll make it. :)

Wow, 11 years, that’s hard. I’ve been with my DH for 15 years, and I just know it would be terrible if we were to ever part ways. That said, my aunt and uncle divorced several years ago, after being married well over 20 years, remarried within a few, and it was one of the best things she ever did. Not only does she have full grown children from her new hubby, she has grandchildren to watch grow up and to spoil. That all said, if you ever want to talk to a random tea loving stranger over some tea about it all, I’m in James Bay.

1 microwavable glass jar with a lid
4 0z of 1% milk
1 16oz mug
1.5 tsp Cream of Earl Grey
12oz of hot water

Pour milk into jar, place in microwave (in my micro) set timer to 1:20 minutes and hit start. Steep tea as usual. Take Jar out of microwave screw lid on tightly and shake. Pour over steeped tea including the froth and enjoy.

I will admit that Lucerne Milk (Safeway, Tom Thumb, ect) does not foam as nicely as I would like, but it still makes enough foam for a “Poor Mans London Fog”.

There is enough vanilla in this tea that I did not need to add anymore to it to get that London Fog quality you get at a coffee shop. I will admit that I thoroughly enjoy how sweet the milk gets when it is heated and shaken! Mmmmmm

This little 10g sample seemed to go too quickly – I can’t wait to get more!

But I think I will wait a bit. I need some room in my tea cupboard. It’s increadibly packed!

There is not a lot of this tea left. I wish DAVID’s offered tins that held just 50g, because this one is a once in a while dessert tea the large 100g tins makes this tea seem daunting. Does that make sense? I like this tea, but just in small, small doses…

Indigobloom

that makes total sense!! I’ve been searching for a 50, or even 25g tin for months! Afraid to use the dollar store variety, filled with all that BPA blech!

MaddHatter

Try TeaDesire, they have beautiful tins…

They don’t have 50g tins, but they do have 25g and beautiful 100g tins that I have sitting on my kitchen counter.

Indigobloom

thanks MaddHatter! I’ll keep those in mind for sure. For now, I’m trying to stay local… shipping costs and all *sighs

Indigobloom

looks like they have some really nice teas, I wish I could order a bunch!!

MaddHatter

I’m not about to give this company anymore money for teas. I went into their Naniamo store, and nearly died! as a former sales rep for various companies I was shocked and appalled at their up-sales tactics and lack of friendliness, their oolongs are impeccable, but I am hard pressed to spend the money. But They are the only place I have found tins I like (until DAVIDs gets some new fashionable ones)

Indigobloom

oh. another one of THOSE companies. Le sigh…

Cattibrie

David does small personalized tins for weddings and such. I wonder if we emailed them on-masse if they would get the hint we want smaller tins and sell them un-personalized.

MaddHatter

I remember an employee mentioning that there is something in the works for smaller tins – but that could be just me perpetuating rumour?

KG

If you find tins somewhere else be sure to bring them into DavidsTea, as you can get a 50 cent discount off your tea by bringing in any tin, not just a DavidsTea tin (so long as you are getting 50 grams or more) :)

Plunkybug

Teaopia now has some small washi tins. Not too expensive, and with Davids, you can get nearly any amount of tea as I’m sure you know. I haven’t checked out to see whether Silk Road has any small tins.

Not for me, it smells better than it tastes, it’s very flat when a person associates sweet with caramel.

I mixed it with DAVIDs “Oh Canada” – it works at least I am not wasting the tea this way.

It is amazing, and sad how quickly one goes through a great tea! It is time to go and get more… Soon, quickly… TODAY!!

I love to read and what goes better with reading than a hot cup of tea on rainy winter nights and an ice-cold tea on a hot summers day?

I used to drink copious amounts of coffee but that was just a joke, because I never drank enough water to flush out that one cup of coffee (32oz of water to 8oz of coffee?!?) and the variety in tea gives me what I need – it is not often I will drink the same thing twice.

Tea is defiantly more gentle on the waistline… Espcially since when I crave apple pie I can reach for a cup of “Mom’s Apple pie” or if I want caramel corn for my movie night, I just have to brew a cup of “Movie Night”…

I definitely have a preference for Oolongs, flavoured Blacks and a select number of flavoured Rooibos.

I love you tea, this can only get better as the extra weight continues to tapper off!

Oh, did I mention I am a reader, a childcare worker, a teacher, a friend, a sister and so many other things in a day?
