From Tealish

Don’t wait till after dinner if you’re craving dessert, just steep a cup of this creamy sweet tea! Luscious rooibos provides a base for sweet notes of rich almond goodness with a hint of tangy orange. The naturally caffeine free infusion is creamy and SO delicious. The aroma is simultaneously comforting and invigorating.

Had this one today for my first cup at work. This time I brewed it in an infuser instead of a bag to see how that changed things. Sadly, it reinforced the fact that this isn’t a tea for me. The marzipan dominates, and I was hoping it would be more orange. The notes of fruit are there most definitely, but they are the undercurrent rather than the body. If anyone likes almond/marzipan, please let me know so I can share this with you!

Have you ever had one of those Pillsbury Rolls with the Orange Glaze? The ones you buy in the refrigerator section, bake, and then add the orange glaze… This is one of those liquified. I shall be hogging the rest of this sample for myself. Most def YUM. I might have to get some of this.

yummy, sounds like a tea that does not need to be sweetened for sure!

This one is yummy. And, yes, use sweetener sparingly.

This is good!!
But startlingly similar to my Almond Rooibos. Not so much on the “marzipan”, unless it typically has degrees of almond in it? I really don’t know, but the stuff I’ve had was more cakey than pure almond candy. Anyhow, piping hot, I do get some of the orange but then I just burnt my tongue a little- not really worth the oh so fast burst of citrus… (though my mind immediately went to: nice! this is Kalahari meets marzipan! if only that had lasted!!! It was a brief moment of heaven) and besides, this is one of those flavours I’ve had trouble grasping lately. Even with orange lifesaver candies, all I get is sugary goodness.
Oh well.
Between this and my other almond tea I’m not sure which one is better. I’d have to try a side by side! I will say this though, the Orange Marzipan smells incredible steeped. Mmmmm.
Oh oh wait!! now that it’s cooled a little more now, I do believe there is a hint of orange in the aftertaste. I don’t normally get backhints with my rooibos, but I swear, sumthin is there :P
Note to self: next time, try this with a dash of milk!

Backlogged cuppa from yesterday:
POW!! It is like an explosion of orange and almond goodness from the moment you smell this tea dry. And to me it tastes as good as it smells. I have not had a tea infused with orange and I really like it. Very comforting to me for some reason. Thankfully, it is not too overpowering but does seem to invigorate me! This would make a great tea to go to for an afternoon pick-me-up!

Someone from the Toronto Tea Party shared a sample of this with me (Tina? Adrienne? I don’t even know any more.) and I finally got around to trying it. First thing I got hit with was the orange, a very sweet and creamy orange, but with the heavy aftertaste I get from most rooibos teas. Tasty experiment, but I don’t think I’ll reach for it again.

woaaaaaaah I LOVE this tea… I got this in a swap from scribbles… I believe I have tried one tea from tealish, back when I still lived at home.. and I loved it.. but I haven’t fallen for a tea this hard, in a very long time. It starts out with a punch of orange, and then levels out with an amaraettoish/marzipan taste, that lingers slightly… I find that neither flavour overpower each other…. I tried this hot and can’t wait to try it iced :)

I love the smell of this tea! I like the taste of this tea. I find the rooibos can be a bit overpowering about halfway through the cup, even as a latte, and I’m not a fan of rooibos. I tend to drink this as a latte in the evening. It’s delicious :)

I liked it well-enough. Tastes like it says it will: orange marzipan. I feel like this one is kind of a springtime tea for me, when the weather still cold enough for me to crave sweet, comfort-food flavours, but at the same time warm enough for me to start feeling starved for lighter, fruitier fare.
