Thanks so much, Angry Tea Room! This is a tea company I feel doesn’t find enough notice on Steepster. They have so many delicious sounding blends! Here is a lovely no caffeine option that I was very interested in trying. It sounds like a Mexican hot chocolate: plenty of chocolate ingredients, plenty of spicy ingredients with a rooibos and honeybush base. I love the addition of the saffron…it gives the blend a look of flames! I went with one heaping teaspoon as I didn’t want to overdue it with the promise of spicy ingredients. However, I shouldn’t have worried. The spiciness isn’t too bad. I could have handled a little more heat. It isn’t like some heat blends that use a lot of cayenne pepper powder. If anyone is worried the spices will be too much for you, don’t! The flavor has a nice cocoa flavor to it. Plenty of cocoa! The rooibos/honeybush base is of the very smooth sort. None of that offensive rooibos. It’s the good stuff, which is probably helped with the additional honeybush. On the second steep, the cocoa takes a backseat and the spicy flavors turn up. More cinnamon than heat, but a nice balance anyway. A unique blend I haven’t seen anywhere else. I’m not sure why this wasn’t called ‘Angry Chocolate rooibos’ though!
Steep #1 // 1 heaping teaspoon for a full mug// 8 minutes after boiling // 3 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 4 minute steep
I picked up this tea at the tea festival the other day. This tea is decent but nothing spectacular. It sounded good when I bought it. But the vanilla flavor comes off tasting a little artificial. There’s another note to this tea a fruity note. that note is nice. In short I have mixed feelings about this tea. It’s not great but it’s not terrible. So far I don’t have much positive to say about the Angry tea Room. Their Detox Blend was pretty bad and this one is just ok, not by any means incredible. I don’t remember what I paid for this but it wasn’t expensive.
I brewed this one time in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 3 minutes 30 seconds.
Flavors: Fruity, Vanilla

Bought this at the Tea and Coffee Festival NYC because it looked interesting and was caffeine free. It is not as interesting in taste as it looked when I was buying it. It is flavored heavily with lemon from a couple different sources. The lemon flavors overwhelm the rooibos and the honeybush flavors. Whether drinking this will do anything to detox me I don’t know. I am wishing I had picked out a different tea. This one is pretty bad in truth.
I brewed this once in a 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 5 minutes.

Day#18 is this lovely… the tea that made me discover Angry Tea Room AND order from them so I could get more of this tea! I’m surprised I’m just now noticing the cocoa in this tea, because it seems like pure maple and no chocolate at all, but maybe that is all part of the delicious results. I bought three ounces of this one (and including the amount in the Advent) so I might put an ounce for sale in the forums. I have too many teas not to share. I can’t believe I’m still the only tasting note for this!
Here’s Hoping Traveling Teabox – Round #5 – Tea #7
Another tea company I haven’t tried before! I’ve been drinking tea for years and it’s amazing that there are so many teas out there. Even though some shops might repackage teas from other companies. This one is just labeled Canadian Maple, but I searched for that and I saw that the picture of the Angry Teabag was the same. :D Why is the teabag so mad?! But whoa is the maple accurate. This tea is sweet sweet maple syrup on a medium black tea base (that actually looks like it could be maple syrup.) I’m not sure where the cocoa comes in, since I’m not tasting it. I’d rather this just be maple anyway. Another tea shop that looks like it has some interesting blends (caramel popcorn movie night, candy cane, some pumpkin blends). And this is the ONLY one on Steepster. sigh.

Did they give you a free sample?
I need to try this company’s teas soon. I’ve had such a long wishlist that I often don’t get to the ones that I want to try for a while. I might knock them up on the list for Autumn/Winter. This sounds like it’d make a great tea for those seasons. :)
I did ask about samples because I was planning an order (especially for the Maple!) and Angry Tea Room was awesome and sent some over. They said they don’t mind sending samples within the US. There is also a coupon code for 10% off: tea10
