This tea tastes quite similar to da.u.de’s Xaouen blend, although I found that one to be more floral while this one tastes more fruity. Also this blend lacks any green or white tea which seems to make it taste a bit sweeter and less vegetal.
Preparation
This is another one of the teas I received in a trade with silvermage2000/Ashley.
The smell of this tea…wow, it’s just incredible. I open the bag and instantly I’m bombarded with scents of luscious mango, peaches, and papayas with undertones of rose. If they made a perfume out of this tea I would so totally buy it!
I’ve never had a green rooibos tea before – I’m not a huge fan of it’s red cousin, but people have said that the flavour is considerably different, so I was willing to give this tea a shot. The taste starts out similar to a red rooibos tea, though not as woody or tart, and then it changes into tropical fruity goodness (yum!). The tail end of the flavour has an refreshing taste with ‘bright’ notes. Seriously, I don’t know what words to use to describe them. There’s a lingering floral aftertaste, just a faint hint of rose, nothing artifical or unpleasent.
This tea gets a solid thumbs up!
Preparation
oh this sounds wonderful! I’ve never tried green rooibos, so your description is very helpful. added to shopping list
Another Ashely tea…thanks Ashley!
I cannot express how much I LOVE the smell of this tea! It’s brilliant!
The tasting is lovely as well. If you can’t drink at work (LOL) this is a great substitute! :P
It’s like a raspberry, grape-E goodness with noticeable white tea taste, a tad floral and fun! I can almost feel the bubble starting to brew! teahee
This looks like a dark black tea with light brown specks. I assume this this has a blend of black teas but did not see anything specific on the website. This smells like good black tea. I steeped it up. It tasted like black tea slightly strong without being extremely strong. With no bitterness or anything like that. I thought this was good.
i can see the ingredients. This mostly smells like orange. I brewed it up. The taste a strong sour orange with some chamomile and abit of mint. The orange is too strong and tart and overwelms the other ingredients. This just does not taste all that good. to be because of that.
This is Nummy! I had a HUGE honkin’ chunk of Papaya in there with other bits of Papaya and Pineapple. The flower buds look like they do in the picture. There is absolutely NO false advertising with this description! I really like this blend…very flavorful both with the tea itself and the other ingredients. And it smells GREAT too!
Brilliantly refreshing today!
I always wonder about this tea because I don’t really care for mint teas (I have to be in the mood for hot mint), but also because Snow Bunny is a slang term that has many meanings, mostly derogatory.
Peggy, same…I always get turned off when I see mildly sexist and racist things on tea websites…sigh. Their loss. The worst is if it’s a company who’s tea I enjoy.
I’m not put off by it as much as they should probably research the names first a little before they market it. Maybe they haven’t heard of Google? :-)
Haha, actually “Snow Bunny” didn’t ding my over-sensitive no-sense-of-humor feminist radar until you mentioned it. I was thinking more along the lines of a company that was using the words “yo” and “dawg” when describing a fruit tea that tastes like “red kool aid”, and another that was trying to be macho and funny, but just came off as offensive to me…>;[
This is really hard for me to describe the smell of! I think that might be a first! I really have been trying to think of the words to describe this and I can’t come up with anything. Mellow, slight, neutral…not sure.
Very light in color near clear.
Very clear and refreshing.
Barely there mint taste but you know it’s something…might be good for those who don’t like mint or a lot of mint.
A Very delicate tea. Not much to it but I know that’s by design.
Soothing. Yes! Soothing is how I will remember this tea!
This has white tea, safflowers, raspberry, and champagne flavoring. There is not actual alcohol in this. You tell the ingredients. This mainly smells like grape. I steeped it up. This tastes like grape with abit of raspberry and white tea. I think this is pretty good.
