Earth Meets Sweet! Hello Sweet! Just enough to tone done the Green’s after taste. What a brilliant blend for a green tea pairing. Delightful! I bet it would also be great iced…might have to try it later…iced. Very Nice Cup!

My tea tastes have changed a lot. Two years ago, I liked this tea. Now, I’m glad it’s all used up. Smells musky and unpleasant so that’s not cool. The taste isn’t horrible – a bit more dried, candied pineapple instead of fresh pineapple – but there is a very perfume-y aftertaste that required gum immediately after I finished my cup.

I think my tea tastes are only slightly more stable than my musical tastes.

I used to really like this tea. But it’s been a while since I had it – I fell a bit out of love with it months ago. But since I am determined to get my tea pantry under control, I thought I’d bust this one out again because 1) I may like it now and 2) even if I don’t, I’m still that much closer to getting rid of a tin, right?

Musically, I tend to switch around musical genres. I’ll be in a pop mood for a bit, then a classic rock mood, then alternative, then angry music (it’s a genre for me, what can I say?)… It cycles and each mood stays around for one or more months. I’m getting the feeling that my tea tastes do the same. Or else I’m outgrowing flavored teas. Either or.

This is a bit more of a candied pineapple taste than fresh pineapple. With a bit of muskiness in it like appears if you’ve ever dried watermelon with a food dehydrator. Which can be a little odd (though at the same time, it’s oddly nifty… but odd). Additionally, I’m becoming pickier about the aftertaste I get from flavored teas. Because I’m learning that teas, even flavored ones, don’t have to give an aftertaste that requires immediate gum chewing. This one, though, does. So that makes me sad.

So not only have I found other good flavored teas, making this one seem less happy-making than it had been previously, but I’m pretty sure I’m migrating away from flavored teas and towards unflavored. I’ve probably got one more morning cup of this tea left but after that I won’t be getting this again.

In musical tastes though, this one is always fun no matter what mood I’m in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWSQ9YQa_6w

Flavored tea can be good! I just think that BAD flavored tea makes you never want to try that particular flavor at all. I think I have to be in the mood for either flavor/unflavored. Because tea itself that’s high-quality has so many nuances by itself.

Everything I’ve had flavored/scented by Golden Moon has been a-mazing though!

Dude, I know! I swear I’m still catching whiffs of the coconut pouchong today. 4 lovely steeps last night. SO good. And no post-tea gum needed!

Adagio is really scaring me off of flavored tea. Gah, I haven’t been able to bring myself to keep trying the samples I bought!

Double cup iced, 2 Truvia. The more I drink this, the less I like it. The dry leaves have a revolting smell, but at least it’s no so bad brewed. It’s not really bad, just not great.

Cofftea

I think your mistake is that you’re sweetening it. Try 2.25g of tea per 6oz of purified water steeped at 180 degrees F for 7 min. If you want it iced, do NOT use regular ice cubes. Make extra tea and use them.

Drank it hot. Single cup, 3 raw sugar.

Not bad, but I don’t know how I really feel about it yet. I think I need to try it iced.

Don’t know how “rum” it tasted but was nice and mild. Enjoyable.

Another one finished off! I decided that what I really needed was something black and fruity sweet, not something plain black.

So I took the rest of these leaves, again, enough for just half a pot, and botched the brewing. I put them in the pot, but by the time the water was done boiling I’d forgotten that I only had enough leaves for half a pot so I filled it up. I don’t like pouring a botched brewing away without tasting it first, so we’ll see if I just wasted the last of my leaves of this one.

Yes, it’s definitely a bit on the weakling side. It’s still tasting like a black tea though and there’s they sweet fruity note that I wanted clear enough. It just doesn’t really have much body. But that’s my own fault.

I like it. It was fun to try and I’m curious about this guanabana fruit. Unlikely to ever get to taste one, but still. I kinda suspect that I would like it. But it’s not a tea that I feel any need to stock up on.

Suzi logged this yesterday and reminded me that I still had some left in my sample tin. I bought it primarily because of the odd name. Never heard of this fruit before, but if I ever get to South America (doubtful, considering my fear of travelling) I’ll have to make sure to try and taste it.

It’s sweet and fruity and tastes tropical. If I knew what the fruit really tastes like ‘au naturel’ my review of it might be difference, but as it is I’m thinking it’s a fruit I might like. So this is my morning cup on this grey and dismal looking thursday. I understand the majority of you lot have a holiday today, so I’m guessing a lot of people won’t be around. Wow… bad day for me to get addicted to the live stream, but there you are. My life in a nutshell.

Heh, being that Thanksgiving is traditionally a holiday centered around family, you might find quite a few people hiding out on Steepster regardless. I distinctly remember a Thanksgiving we spent with family out in Ohio, where I told them I was doing schoolwork but I was actually playing mini-golf on candystand.com. My cousin found me and in exchange for not telling we played two-player for the rest of the afternoon.

Suzi

Ha ha, I’ll still be around. I had to skip out the festivities and work on a paper for school :-p

Angrboda

Don’t go playing minigolf instead. :D

Awww I hearts my Steepster Peeps today. :)

Suzi

Hey, congrats on the $2 shipping w/ 52teas :D You had me cracking up over in Steepster Select!

Angrboda

Hey, this place is AWESOME! Now I want to build a statue of 52Teas out of used leaves and worship at its feet.

Jillian

My Thanksgiving was back in mid-October so this is just another day for me. ;)

While I wasn’t completely convinced of this when I first reviewed it, I have an addendum to make.
It is absolutely splendid iced!

I had never heard of this before, but apparently it’s some sort of tropical fruit that we others can’t get because the fruit doesn’t transport very well.
The dry leaves smell weird. Sort of fruity and bitter at the same time. Like a very old orange. At this point I’m sceptic. Very sceptic.
Colour is nice and golden and the scent is something familiar that I can’t quite place. It’s not mouldy oranges anymore anyway.
The taste is…. strange. Fruity. Adagio suggests something akin to candied strawberry and pineapple. I can’t really ‘find’ those notes but at the same time I don’t really disagree either. I can’t tell when I don’t know how the fruit is supposed to taste.

I like it. I don’t think I’ll stock up on it once I’ve got through the sample, but I like it.

Love this tea. I’ve had other Oolong’s but this is by far my favorite (so far).

A nice, simple green tea. Did two infusions and it held up well. Am about to see if I can squeeze a 3rd infusion.
