Wow, this gets astringent very quickly. I really like the spices + jasmine combo though. Be careful more to overbrew this, I accidentally left mine in for about 5 minutes and than was far too long. It could also be the green tea in the base that made it astringent (and also a bit bitter). Either way, beware!

There is a strong scent and flavour from jasmine and from something similar to orange peel and mulling spices, but the spices are quite faint. What I really like is that there is no acidic/sour aspect with the orange/fruit flavour. I wouldn’t call this a winter or holiday tea, but this blend has so much potential. If not for the astringency that made it undrinkable, I would have really enjoyed this (and probably bought some looseleaf).

Couldn’t agree more. I followed the steeping instructions on this one and I just couldn’t drink it due to its astringency. Steeping it on 3 minutes gets a more balanced taste.

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)

My cupboard is mostly up to date. For a more comprehensive list, see my stash spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-HjWKR3um-xEnj6HC9vMvKXOAyj_bpW5u_2ixEC20-k/edit?usp=sharing
