33 Tasting Notes
Spice cake?…no. It’s okay. It’s more like a chai with lots of clove. It’s decent and it won’t be wasted, but it’s not something that I’m extra excited to drink. I’m sad because I bought 100 grams of this. Oh well, it’ll take me a while to get through it all. Not to self: always buy the minimum amount when trying a tea for the first time!
Preparation
Very good. Sweet. I did add a packet of Splenda, which made it a bit too sweet. Next time I will add just barely a sprinkle if any at all. I don’t know if I’d say “red velvet cake” exactly, but there is a clear maple flavor. It was good. It’s a nice treat. I did top this with just a bit of whipped cream, which melted down into the tea. Yummy!
Preparation
I tried to drink a cup of this last night. For some reason I found this seriously yucky. Maybe it’s the peppercorns? I don’t know, but it doesn’t taste anything like what I think Chai should taste like. If anyone would like to try this out, I can send you a few ounces worth.
Preparation
I actually like this less now than I did the first time. I really don’t like the smell of the tea. I think that has a huge effect on how I interpret the taste. I still don’t think it’s gross, on the flip side it’s also far from delicious. You can bet I won’t drink any more of this.
Preparation
Yuck. I received this as a sample with my last order. It has a horrible after taste, one I can’t even describe. Not to mention, the apple flavor is so fake, almost what you’d expect tart apple flavored candy to taste like. Just not good at all. Thank goodness I didn’t purchase it.
Preparation
A tasty blend of mint and chocolate. I love mint chocolate chip ice cream, so I was really hoping for a flavor like that but it was pretty different. The chocolate was almost like a cocoa-ish flavor and the mint is mild, it almost reminded me of the Orbits peppermint gum. I did need to add a little bit of sugar. I also steeped the same leaves twice and it was just okay the second time around. This is definitely a single steep tea. Probably because all of the chocolate melts with the first cup.
Preparation
I received a sample of this with my last order. It’s good. Very fruity but not very strong. It sort of reminds me of the Dasani Pina Colada flavoring for water, but warm. I steeped it for 5 minutes, but maybe it would be better steeping it longer.
EDIT: This tea is so weak it’s only good for 1 steep. :-(
Preparation
I’ve read that this tea is called a tisane. That was my first time hearing that word, but I like it! It’s really hard to describe this flavor. Besides that, the smell up against the bright pink color really throws you off. I almost didn’t know what to expect.
It’s a yummy flavor. If you like nuts, then you’ll like this. Personally, I can’t really distinctly taste the apples or the cinnamon. It’s there, but in a very settle way. I was really hoping for a sweet cinnamon and sugar coated almond flavor, but that’s not it. It’s good with a small amount of sugar. I was able to re-steep this tea 3 times.
Because it’s caffeine free, it’s perfect for an afternoon or evening treat.
Bummer! Yes, sampling is always good before purchasing large amounts if possible :)
