This is a sample from Zack. Thank you!.

I have been a little leery of ordering the blended teas from Whispering Pines, because the pure tea is oh so good. This is a combination of Alioshan Black and Keemun. The Keemun is what stands out to me in this blend, but with the Alioshan, it seems to be a much softer cup. Slightly fruity, a rounded bread flavor with hints of chocolate. A great morning cup.

@haveteawilltravel Of course! :)

Glad you liked this, TeaTiff! Don’t be leery…I like plain teas most so my blends have to suit me as well. Trust in the blends! Hehe ;-)

Oh milk oolong how I love thee. I have been trying to drink down my cupboard a bit this week so in the process of doing so, sometimes I neglect favorite. The milk oolong is one of the first teas I truly fell in love with and today on the snowy afternoon it is a great companion. floral, sweet, slightly creamy and buttery. Yum!

This was a very generous sample from Wymn Tea. Thank you!

I enjoyed this as my lazy saturday afternoon tea yesterday. I am just starting out with pu-erh so I am not sure how great my notes will be about the tea. This tea was very hard for me to get to open up. I did quite a few rinses before the leaves ever appeared to break apart. The flavors that I got out of the infusions ranges from borderline bitter, to tangy fruit with honey, a few infusions had a creamy feel to the mouthful, and then towards the end a few infusions showed hints of woodiness. Since I am new to pu-erh I will leave this unrated. It was an enjoyable afternoon tea, but it didn’t stand out to me as a favorite in regards to the few Sheng’s I have tried.

No problem TeaTiff! Thanks for the review! This is a tightly compressed cake. We usually break it into smaller pieces first so that the leaves open up quicker.

This is another sample sachet from TeaAve. Thank you!

I brewed this today at work in my new 5oz finum hot glass system. I did 3 steeps. The first steep at 2 mins, the second steep at 3 mins, and the last steep at 5 mins. It was fun finally being able to see the true color of tea through the glass. This tea brewed up a very lovely golden brown. I noticed that the flavor of this tea really popped once the temperature had cooled for a bit after the steep. It was very honey sweet, with hints of caramel, and fruity notes of peach. I love Oriental Beauty Oolongs, and this was a great example of one. Another wonderful offering by TeaAve. I look forward to Sunday to be able to hop on the webpage!

drank Tie Kwan Yin Oolong by Tea Ave

This is another sachet sample from TeaAve. Thank you!

I feel like a broken record with these teas. Amazing, wonderful and so on so forth, but these oolongs have been quite the treat. The Tie Kwan Yin has been no exception to that. It was a roastier TGY than I was expecting, but it was a great level of roast for me. It was slightly fruity, I was definitely picking up on the peach notes in this tea. Like the other oolongs I have been sampling from TeaAve there was a slight creamy mouth feel to it. I didn’t get to spend as much time with tea as I would have liked. It was a crazy afternoon at work, but my first impression was a very good one. Thank you!

drank Cape Jasmine Oolong by Tea Ave
694 tasting notes

This is another sachet sample from TeaAve. Thank you!

This was a very light smooth oolong with hints of Jasmine. This had a somewhat creamy texture, but not quite as creamy as the Ginger Lilly. This was one of the best Jasmine teas I have had. The flavoring blending so well with the base. How do you guys do that? It was slightly floral, creamy, mixed with the perfect amount of Jasmine. Another oolong I was blown away by. Thank you!

When their stores opens I am going to have to get buckets of this tea, so good!

TeaTiff

I am not a HUGE Jasmine fan, so I actually think I will be ordering buckets for the Ginger Lilly, but I still have 4 samples to go through. If they are all this good my tea budget might be shot as soon as the TeaAve doors open for business!

Stephanie

Cape Jasmine! I just had the regular

drank Ginger Lily Oolong by Tea Ave

I was a little suspicious of Tea Ave at first. They sent an email asking about samples, but when I went to find them online the website didn’t exist, so I ignored the email. A few months later I started to see some chatter on here about folks receiving samples. I emailed them and they were kind enough to send me a few of the tea sachets. Thank you Tea Ave. for allowing me the opportunity to take part in tasting your line of oolongs!

This tea is amazing. It is a light creamy oolong with hints of ginger and floral. It is a flavored oolong. Usually when I see a flavored oolong I run the other way. The flavor is usually so strong and doesn’t blend with the tea that it ends up just tasting weird. This is not the case with this tea. The flavor blends so well that I hardly notice that I am drinking a flavored oolong. The feel of this tea in my mouth is one of the things that makes it stand out so much to me. It is like drinking silk. So smooth and creamy. It really makes me want to try the straight Alishan Jin Xuan Oolong that is the base of this tea to compare.

I really look forward to trying the rest of the teas. I think I see a Tea Ave purchase in my future.

Stephanie

This one sounds really good. I love Ginger and their other teas I’ve tried so far have been amazing.

TeaTiff

This was amazing. This was right up there with my favorite milk oolong. It was one of those teas where I wanted to order more immediately!

I love this tea! It is amazing. It is one of my favorite evening cups. It is one of the teas I want when I curl up in a blanket with a book. Okay well that is most teas, but it is always so amazing. It always makes me stop what I am doing and just sip and “think”. Life without this tea….. na lets just not think about that. I still need to try this tea in the giawan. I can only imagine that it gets even better.

I received one of these cute mini tuochas from Stephanie. Thank you!

I logged onto TeaVivre’s site before brewing this and didn’t find any brewing instructions. I didn’t think to check Steepster as half the time folks do not add steeping paramters, at least I know I don’t. I brewed the first infusion of this up at 212. It was wonderful. It was light hints of Jasmine, mixed with a slight tang. The next cup I did the same and let it steep a bit longer and the cup really had a bite to it. Oops! I then got onto Steepster and saw that some folks were using 180 degree water. The rest of the infusions were done with this temperature. It offered some lovely tangy Jasmine. This was so nice. It wasn’t the heavy scented Jasmine that I am use to. The Jasmine really blended with the tea. I really enjoyed this one!

Thank you to Angel at TeaVivre for this amazing sample!

First off, I don’t think I have ever opened a tea packaged up so nicely. It was in vacuumed sealed pouch inside of another vacuum sealed pouch. I brewed the entire 7g in my gaiwan. I did 2 rinses to open up the leaves and then shamelessly neglected the TeaVivre steeping instructions for the first steep but quickly corrected my wrong doing.

I under steeped this a bit for the first infusion. It was a bit on the light side, but still wonderful. It is a very smooth floral oolong. Others have mentioned peach notes, but I did not get too many fruity notes to this cup, it is mostly just smooth flowers. The smoothness of this tea is what amazes me the most. With a lot of TieGuanYin teas I get a bit of a bitterness, with this tea there was absolutely none. Another wonderful offering from TeaVivre!

I started drinking tea while on a 4 month long cycling trip through South America. It seemed to always be a great way to warm up when I was cold and it was always available everywhere. Mate was the big tea of choice down there and it was also a great way to get to know people. When I returned home, my sister introduced me to Teavana and this launched me into the realm of loose leaf tea.
