AMAZING! Yep, if you haven’t bought your limited edition supply of this tea you had better hurry up because tea this good will not last very long. A light base that blends well with a vanilla/creamy flavor with hint of tart fruit.

I had high hopes for this one. Caraemel-Toffee, I mean how could you go wrong? The base is cardboard and the only thing the flavor offers up is a little bit of sweetness to the cup. The sample is old and it is a sample so I will not write off the tea yet, but boo. Slightly disappointed.

With all this talk of malty assams….. Yum. Good cup on a slightly colder morning.

The flavors of this sounded amazing. The black teas have been very strongly flavored and blending very well with the base, but with this blend, chocolate and nutmeg, the rooibos medicinal taste is hitting really strong for me. I did not add sugar tonight. Alot of times a tad bit of sugar helps tame this flavor from the rooibos. First impression is meh. I will have to experiment with this one.

My August Uncommon order arrived last night. I ordered the Winter/Fall 2015 starter for BF along with a bunch of samples of the other teas. I had been looking to order a new infuser for traveling so when the starter sets went on sale I thought it was a good opportunity to get to try some tea and get a new infuser.

This is good. I like the combo of flavors. sweet, fruity and eucalyptus, but it is very bold. I guess I was expecting a calmer tea. I don’t know if that description makes any sense. I like to drink some of my flavored green and white teas before bed as a calming cup and this tea is bold enough in flavor that I wouldn’t consider it a pre-bed tea.

This tea, wow! My first impressions is amazing. I would compare this tea to eating french chocolate covered pretzels or french fries dipped in icecream. Its the savory sweet combo. It has a good hearty base, with some cocoa flavor and then there is something in there that adds this “leather” feel to it. Something that brings it to the savory side. I steeped this twice this morning which is something I do not always do with flavored teas and both infusions were great. I am looking forward to seeing how my opinion holds up on this one with time. I may have to put in an order for a tin, yep that good.

Yummy, afternoon tea. I think I need to try this with a splash of milk, maybe that would make it a creamy lemon tea? This tea needs some serious attention. I have probably 3.5 oz left in the tin.

Why have I neglected this tea? I bought 2oz a while back from the shop. I think I tried it once in a rush and wrote it off. This morning this tea is perfect. I get a slightly berry almondy flavor. The base seems to be similar or the same as all the flavored blacks. I will be honest I sometimes wished H&S had a slightly nicer base for their flavored blacks, maybe a smooth assam, but it is okay. Good cup this morning. I think I am declaring today H&S tea day. I have quite a few I have been craving recently.

I started drinking tea while on a 4 month long cycling trip through South America. It seemed to always be a great way to warm up when I was cold and it was always available everywhere. Mate was the big tea of choice down there and it was also a great way to get to know people. When I returned home, my sister introduced me to Teavana and this launched me into the realm of loose leaf tea.
