Sipdown 8 of 2016. H&S Sample. Purchased 7/2014 – Finished 1/2016.
This tea has been good to me the last two mornings. I no longer have East Frisian to compare it to, but right now it is what I need. I originally rated it a 75. I am bumping this up. I am enjoying it quite a bit this morning. I don’t think I would ever purchase a full tin of this, but if I ordered from the store again I might throw in 2oz. A good breakfast tea.
Siopdown 6 of 2016. A sample. Received 3/2014 – Finished 1/2016.
This is an old sample that was not stored well. It is a sweet warm cup this morning. It brewed up light with hints of vanilla.
I have spent way too much time reading discussions the past few days on here. As entertaining as it has been I really hope things get back to a more “normal” state soon.
This is one of my oldest teas in my collection and one of the teas I had quite a bit of. When my mom found out I was starting to get interested to tea she latched onto it for christmas. I mentioned that I wanted some of this and she showed up to Christmas with 6oz of it. I had just purchased 2oz so I ended up with 1/2 lbs of chai. At first I wanted to try all the different chais out there and I did not make it back to my stash of this until this fall. This is a great chai. Nothing fancy, good combination of spices, good solid base tea, and it is a good price. I think I have about 1-2oz left of this one. I don’t think it will be around after this winter.
So sweet of your mom.
I am glad that you managed to move through that quantity. wow.
Are you steeping it western-style or are you cooking it up on the stovetop?
Yes it was really cool of my mom. She has always been a really good gift giver. I have done this one both ways, western and stove top. I am usually too lazy to do the stovetop method, but it is always my favorite way.
Sipdown 3 of 2016. Sample. Received 11/2015 – Finished 1/2016
This was a gold wrapped sample package from LP. My tasters tell me it is a Keemun, but I do not read Chinese so I have know idea for sure.
I love these little packages. There were several in the awesome package of tea LP sent me. I like opening them up and not knowing exactly what you are getting. The keemun was good. It had the deep notes in keemun that I enjoy. A great morning cup that I throughly enjoyed.
Sipdown 2 of 2016! A sample. Received 2/2015 – Finished 1/2016.
I brewed this gongfu today and it definitely changed my impression of it for the better. It was really sweet and caramel like. There was a lot more depth to this tea than when I brewed it western. I really enjoyed this.
Sipdown 1 of 2016. A Sample. Purchased 11/2015 – Finished 1/2016.
Happy New Year! 2015 was a pretty amazing year. I am looking forward to 2016.
This tea was surprisingly amazing. I could smell the rose and the chamomile in this tea but they were very light in taste. This was floral and sweet. It was a very calming and relaxing tea. I really like this one.
Sipdown 9 of 2015. H&S Sample. Purchased 7/2014 – Finished 12/2015.
I enjoyed this, but it was not my favorite breakfast blend from H&S. I much prefer the Eat Frisian or HT English Breakfast. This is savory and almost smokey? This morning ’s cup I am getting much more of the cocoa notes from the keemun.
