Agree with previous posters… The tea base overwhelms the other flavors until the cup cools considerably. Tastes moste like eggnog when cold.

Upon opening the bag, the smell reminded me of a fresh box of raisins with a hint of rose, in a nice way, even though I don’t care for raisins. First sip while still quite warm— I was expecting a bold fruit flavor with some sweetness— but this tea is TART. Perhaps I mishandled it, because it is tart in an unsweetened juice kind of way, and I don’t taste the oolong at all. Closer to room temperature, I can smell some oolong, but the tartness has increased. My mouth feels rougher in texture and I can feel the taughtness inside my jaw, a less pronounced version of what happens with sour citrus. Not a fan. Bummer.

Hello, salt and butter! Why did you wait to show up until the second steep? Both tastes are immediately apparent now… this I don’t

I keep trying this tea, hoping to have a salted caramel experience, and find it to be only a decent black tea. I want to taste more buttery, more sweet, and especially more salt— even when I am careful about how I spoon out the mixture, I get only a hint of salt. I have trouble tasting caramel in David’s Caramel Rooibos as well, which seems to contain the same little “caramel” cubes.

Anyone care to recommend a favorite salted caramel tea or tisane?

This is my go-to decadent morning tea. It is on sale right now, and I have had to restrain myself from overstocking, reminded that I have too much of some former “go-tos.” It is not so much that I am fickle as that I am new to loose leaf tea… so many wonders to discover. :) Plus I now have to limit my caffeine to about one cup per day (re steeping doesn’t count, though, right?), which heightens the importance of the morning choice…

I never regret Santa’s Secret. With a little cream, it is like a peppermint vanilla cup of hot chocolate, but better because it’s tea! Highly recommend for lovers of flavored blacks.

I was excited to try another version of honeybush after last night’s piña colada deliciousness, however the spearmint caught me by surprise. I thought grasshoppers were peppermint— maybe I’ve never actually had one and am confusing it with mint chip ice cream? It probably didn’t help that my expectations were high or that it has already been an long, exhausting week (and it’s only Wednesday), but the spearmint was so overpowering that it reminded me of chewing gum. Once the tea had cooled considerably, the mint flavor receded a bit, and I could detect some creamy notes, but I don’t think I’ll finish the cup.

This is really lovely… wish I had ordered more than a sample. Slightly sweet, neither the pineapple or coconut dominates, actually does taste like the tea version of a piña colada, especially with a little cream added. There is a buttery taste and mouth feel even without cream, maybe that’s the honeybush, which I am not really familiar with. Ready to explore it more now for sure!
