17 Tasting Notes
Upon initial opening of the package I thought “Hmm… This doesn’t smell like it’s going to be that great.” But WOW after steeping it, it smelled so good! It smelled AND tasted exactly like a Thai sticky rice ball dessert soup! I didn’t add any sugar or sweetener, yet the intense sweetness of the tea was more than enough to make it taste like the That dessert. This tea also showed hints of homemade soy milk and brown sugar. Great tea! I’d love to have it in my herbal tea collection!
Second steeping was MUCH lighter in color and flavor, however I still very much enjoyed it!
First steeping (2:00) – Wow! This is GOOD! The aftertaste is so sweet! Can definitely taste the honey note.
Second steeping (2:30) – This one started out a bit more smokey, like sitting in a nice sauna. But then the sweet honey note gradually crept back in from the first steeping and took over the tea! Amazing! Especially for a black tea, to develop this well into the second steeping!
Flavors: Honey, Malt
Preparation
For some reason, I can’t get it out of my head that this tastes like sweet strawberry-milk. It’s so great! Although I would advise against drinking this everyday as it gets old quick. However, for a nice treat every once in a while, this tea is perfect! I’m definitely keeping this one in my tea stash.
