Rumpus Parable Send Message

Sweet, green, golden, musty, complex.

Depending on the part of the mouth it touches and length of time there this tea shows a lot of different aspects in taste.

Most basic review: when I took my first drink I paused and thought how good it was and how interesting. Liked it right away.

I’ve had this for a good long while and reviewed it before. Today’s a follow-up.

It’s a sweet green, that medium dark green flavor of the sweettart leaves that are similar to clover. Golden tones along the side of and under the tongue. A darker, more… Almost bitter but not… A richer green at the top of the mouth and upper back of the throat in the long finish.

With each sip the golden sweetness to this tea is the strongest thing to hit me. Green, but first and foremost gold in taste.

Really enjoyable.

Made it to the directions on the back of the package.

Phwoo! Lots of jasmine in this. Flowers flowers flowers!

The jasmine I think may be a little more than suits me, but it rides that line to where it’s good and might qualify as a here-and-there tea.

Because this is very pleasant.

The white tea is somewhat overwhelmed by the jasmine, but again not to a bad level… Riding that line, as said. You can taste the underlying white but as a backup supporting taste, vaguely a base flavor.

This is very jasmine.

Note: after posting this I looked at the numbers and realized I put way too much tea in to my container due to Waking-Up Math. So that may be effecting the above review lol.

Flowery, perfume, roses. That tiniest bit of perfume-y sting in the back of the throat. The colors are all pinks and light purples and a little bit of a flower petal yellow pastel.

The flavor is strong and all in the back third of the mouth and throat. The front of the tongue picks up nothing for me. There’s also the teensiest tiniest something that makes me see/taste orange.

Very strong floral taste and smell, though. A really lovely Darjeeling.

It makes the mouth water after you swallow, for a while.

I like.

Medium musty, more green than a white and less green than a green. It has a slight savory green-yellow in the back of the throat.

A sweetness in the noise that is very faint at the end of the swallow.

The finish is strong and throughout the mouth.

I’m only a little above so-so on this. Am gonna have a coupla more cups to see what happens over them.

On drinking more, there is also something a little zingy of to the upper right, diagonally, of the mouth.

But yeah, I’m meh on this one. But think others may dig it.

Ut oh, an update to my earlier raving:

The plastic inside parts of the tops absorb scents/flavors and so far I’m having a hard time getting the last out. I’d hope/assumed they were made of plastic that was as limited as possible in this, but it was actually quite easy. I have made two fruited/scented teas in it and each time I had to scrub and soak the lids to get the neutrality back.

The first one wasn’t an intensely flavored tea so a day of scrub and soak practice got it back to normal.

This second one is the admittedly one with a very strong cinnamon component. They’ve been soaked and scrubbed a few times today and are currently soaking again.

100% neutrality isn’t necessary in such things, but these were both strong enough that I’d be smelling them while sipping something else out of the bottle so I need/ed to get them out or at least gone to just a trace.

Will update on success.

Otherwise, though, still an awesome product that I highly recommend. Just be more careful than I in using flavored and scented teas in it.

Green on the right side of the tongue and teeth. Medium dark green with a pleasing level of bitterness that is just right to me in this tea. Some burnt umber shades with a bit of deeper brown and also lighter into yellow tones in the front of the mouth.

It’s some harsh but in a way that makes you want another sip. Very pleasing. I like this dragon well. Definitely one of the best I’ve had I’d say.

Green, round, dark to the back of the throat, light in the front sides and tip of the tongue.

It’s a medium strength tea. A bit astringent. A slight sweettart (plant, not candy) touch to it at the end.

Finish is comfortable but has a bit of an edge. Yes, as I drink it’s definitely drying my mouth.

Not a fan.
