I grew this myself! O_O it was off to a really slow start this year. Until I added some organic fertilizer. As it turns out, my soil is awful. So I only got a few blossoms popping up last week or so. Last night I decided to stop just admiring the blooms and harvest a few.
I’ve never been a huge fan of chamomile. It usually leaves my throat itchy and tastes unpleasant. Fresh chamomile though, that’s good stuff! It was all honey with a hint of green apple. And only a barely perceptible itch in the throat. :)
Next time I’ll add some chocolate mint. I wanted to try this by itself first. I’m also curious to taste it dried.

You know, as crazy as our chocolate mint is growing, I have underused it and didn’t even think about it with chamomile. I will remedy that quickly!
We tried without success to grow this last year. We used bagged soil in a planter but it was probably too hot and too dry around here to grow anything.
Gmathis, I also have lemon grass! It will be delicious!
KS, maybe add fertilizer next time. Bagged dirt can be awful quality. Or try chocolate mint. Gmathis and I both know that it’s invincible. ;)
Actually K S and Mrs. K S are the ones that turned me on to chocolate mint and other potted curiosities :) Reading up on the best way to keep them healthy and dormant in the winter is on my to-do list.
Oh well now I feel silly.
I’ve always loved plants but wasn’t allowed to have any until this year. It’s so exciting!
I need to plant some chamomile! I finally got lavender to grow and flourish here this year by ignoring the advice on the tag. It is simply too hot and humid here to put it in full sun. We have five composters and use that for our soil, top dressing, and fertilizer. Maybe chamomile would like to live near my lavender!

I didn’t see it, but hubby says we had a little hummingbird visit our lavender pot today.
