15 seconds rinse.

1st stepping 2:00 minutes; second stepping 2:30 minutes: Begin with a sweet vegetal-fruit taste, almost no bitterness. Flavour of this tea is a little bit too strong, not as good as the Jin Xuan Oolong sold by World of Tea.

WATER USED: Nestle Pure Life

20 sec. rinse. Smell like earthy milk chocolate.

1st step 2:20 min. : Mellow taste, it is watery sweet, slightly milk chocolate and earthy — it lack flavours (it is too weak). The 908 is not particularly complex.

The earthy flavour is more pronounce as the tea cool down, it taste less watery with a medium dryness.

Second step 4:20 min. : The tea is stronger and taste better. Still taste a little bit watery. Now I taste a new woody earthy flavour with a little bit of bitterness.

I recommend to rinse this tea for 30 sec and steep this tea for 4:00 min. for 2 tsp / 250 ml. I don’t recommend to boil at 212 degree F, try instead 205 degree F. Also, wait a little bit before drinking so the tea can cool down a bit, it will taste better.

“The ‘Jin Xuan’ Oolong, aka Milk Oolong”
Oolong need to be rinse once, so that the tea leave can open up. This is a high quality tea without any flavourings that you can find in some “Milk Oolong”. First stepping, 2:00 minutes: It smell and taste lightly milky and vegetal with a touch of sweetness. As it cool down there is a light peachy flavour. It taste eventually like butter turning to a creamy tea. This tea is slightly dry as you drink more of it. Second stepping, 2:30 minutes: The milky flavour is starting to disappear, now it is more buttery and creamy. The vegetal notes of the tea is getting more present when it cooling down with a slightly bitterness starting to show up. WATER USED: Nestle Pure Life.

Flavors: Bitter, Butter, Creamy, Milk, Peach, Sweet, Vegetal

Western Style – 2 Rinses, 1st brew – 2 min. 15 sec. : Tingling sensation… At the first sip you can definitely taste a mix of woody, earthy and green bitter flavours going softer as you drink it. Plus the smoke flavour has an effect on all the other’s flavours. As it cool down a sweetness develop that change into a slightly honey note. While the flavours are less pronounced after a few sips, except for the sweet honey, the bitterness is slightly too strong for my taste (too much leaves? Perhaps!)

I recommend to brew less leaves for 1:45 to 2 minutes at 200 F (93 Celsius) if you wants less bitterness.

Not much to say, it is a tea that taste like coffee with a sweet bitterness with a touch of sweet malt and that is slightly sour. Taste too much like coffee, I can’t distinguish the black and white tea in it - The price is too high for that one. However, I will revisit this one with different parameters it may taste better, will see. WATER USED: Nestle Pure Life

Flavors: Bitter, Coffee, Malt, Sour, Sweet

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 3 min, 30 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 250 ML

A lightly fruity taste black tea from Darjeeling district that is sweet with a touch of bitterness that change into a flowery forest. It reminded me (when I was a kid), while I was at the cottage with family during our summertime vacation, at St-Louis De Blandord near Victoriaville and Quebec City – Memory playing near the forest in an early morning. At the subsequent brew a pepper-citrus flavour appear. Subsequent brew: +30 sec from the last brewing time. WATER USED: Nestlé Pure Life

Flavors: Bitter, Citrus, Forest Floor, Fruity, Pepper, Sweet

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 3 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 250 ML

I tried this tea again yesterday and today. I’m so surprise, I brew exactly at the same parameters than the first session that I had with this tea around 16 days ago. The smokiness is almost gone to be replaced by a kind of candy flavour that resemble a mix of black liquorice and juniper. It is sweet, resinous and only a bit smokey. All the others flavours honey, bitter, floral… are almost inexistant – just a hint. I have to up the score on this one from 69 to 72. Will see if it remain the same taste…

Coca-Cola and vanilla notes (scent/taste) in the beginning of the first few sips that gradually change to a more robust black tea with a hint of bitterness. The sweetness and vanilla flavours increases over time. I must say that I get a nice boost of energy after drinking 2 to 3 cups of this tasty tea. There is a definitely weak bergamot scent and taste – I think the vanilla overwhelm the others flavours, so it can be hard to distinguish the others savour of this tea like for example the citrus tang. WATER USED: Nestle Pure Life – Each additional cup I added 30 sec.

Flavors: Bergamot, Bitter, Citrus, Sweet, Vanilla

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 3 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 250 ML

This one kick off by showing coffee bean taste that go away as the temperature cool down and disappear at the subsequent brew. A very soft tea with a touch of bitterness, the intensity of the other flavours (malt, sweetness, dark chocolate…) varies as you drink. A really good black tea without dryness and I really like the intensity of the sweetness of this one. WATER USED: Nestlé Pure Life.

Flavors: Bitter, Cocoa, Coffee, Dark Chocolate, Malt, Sweet

The Jasmine flavour is not overwhelming, however, the green tea is only slightly present, I wish it has a stronger green tea taste. The first and second infusion are watery, sweet, green and taste like Jasmine. The third infusion save this tea, with a mix of nutty and malty taste that were not present in the first and second infusion. This tea, is not enough complex or hasn’t enough flavours for me. The fourth infusion, taste only like jasmine and bitter. I think the price is too high for that one. I’m pretty sure you can find a better Jasmine tea with a more complex flavour and that linger more with a less watery taste, it taste too much just like Jasmine. WATER USED: Nestlé Pure Life. Brew western style at 185 F at 3:00 min, for each steep I add 30 sec. I may revisit this tea, and try to brew longer and change the temperature of the brew.

Flavors: Green, Jasmine, Malt, Nutty, Sweet

Preparation
185 °F / 85 °C 3 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 250 ML
