Bio

Jhentea is a 4th generation family business. Our family has been making tea for over 150 years and in May of 2009 we started offering tea for sale in the US for the first time.
Jhentea sells high-quality, hand-processed and whole leaf Taiwan oolong tea.
We are 4th generation Tea Masters. Unlike the other tea companies, we actually make our tea and do not source from any Tea Master we have not worked the fields with for many years. Therefore we are involved in the entire tea making process.

- Our guiding principles:

We believe that pure tea is the best tea and there is no human produced substitute for the quality and fragrance our family’s Tea Masters can obtain. Therefore we never added and will never add enhancers and additives to our tea. We strongly believe that tea has its own life, even after being harvested from the tea plant. Throughout the tea making process we ensure that the tea leaves maintain their respective living characteristics and when you add hot water all those characteristics immediately jump out though the strong fragrance and after-taste. Tea based on sustainable farming. The entire tea making process must be in harmony with the land, environment and the weather. We will never go against nature. Nature has its own way of making things work. In recent years people have come to rely more and more on technology to speed up the tea making process or alter the tea either genetically or by adding additives after the fact to suite current taste trends.
